I'm running hawk performance ceramic's front and rear. I think my brake dust problem is amplified because my wheels don't have a glossy clear coat and are a satin finish so the brake dust bakes on instead of blowing / wiping off ? I'm gonna have to try some industrial cleaner or something because regular wheel cleaner doesn't do anything for me.

Performance ceramic's are supposed to dust much less than hps pads too!

Check out Meguiars Wheel Brightener. Its the best wheel cleaner i have ever used, period. It works especially well on calipers and caked on brake dust.

Solution:
http://www.autogeek.net/meguiar-s-wheel-brightener.html

Spray Bottle (for proper dilution ratio):

I actually used sonax full effect wheel cleaner and it makes them look brand new if you haven't tried that I think you should.

Also I think DUB wheel cleaner by meguiars is very similar to sonax not sure if it is 100 % as strong but I'm trying it next since the reviews look good. It's also an iron dissolving acid free solvent. I usually buy sonax in bulk cause otherwise it's pricey so 9 bucks shipped for 22oz of DUB wheel cleaner isn't bad at per bottle price.

that and an assortment of wheel woolies to get deep in the barrels and tight spots easily helps a bunch.

Sonax makes really good cleaners, totally agree. But to me the meguiars is more cost effective, especially because i wash my truck and wife's car alot. A one gallon jug can make over 11 gallons of cleaner throughout the course of diluting down.

$18 for 11 gallons of cleaner is an unbelievable price.

yep, its amazing how much it can be stretched out.

i use their super degreaser and all purpose cleaners too. They cover anything i would ever need to clean on a car. The only other product i need to order is their D180 leather cleaner/conditioner.

I use armor all extreme tire gel with the applicator. Doesn't sling everywhere and lasts a very long time. Any others you like?

re: SilverBillet's JGC Altitude OEM + Build thread

For the rims (once they're clean) you could also get them coated with Opti-Coat or Cquartz Finest to help keep the brake dust from embedding itself in your matt/satin wheels.

My wife has black satin replicas on her BMW for winter and I got her car coated with Cquartz Finest when it was new and the summer/winter rims as well. It made a huge difference on how much the brake dust clung to her wheels. She still gets a lot of brake dust as BMWs are notorious for it, but it's easy to clean off even with the satin finish wheels.

I had the Opti-Coat Pro on my Ford F150 and my wheels were super easy to keep clean because of the coating.
