Re: * Skunkd's 2015 White GC Altitude *

My RA4 Uconnect unit is on its way Can't wait, hopefully the install goes without a hitch and everything is programmed correctly. I know some have done it already so any tips would be nice! I'll go read through the RA4 swap thread again before I tackle the install.

Ok it arrived and I immediately got to putting it in.

New RA4 from a Ram

Dash pops out with no tools just open the media bay half way and stick your hands underneath the nav bezel and pull out being mindful of all the clips and air vents that hold the uconnect/hvac bezel on

Disconnect all the connections from the RA3 by depressing the release and pulling out. The unit is held in by 4 7mm screws . Use a socket with a small extension to reach them. After the screws and cables are disconnected the unit just pulls straight out

Re: * Skunkd's 2015 White GC Altitude *

Since my unit was from a Ram I had to swap the original shroud from my RA3 onto the new unit. There are 4 torx T-10 screws that hold the shroud on. I removed the shrouds from both units and placed the Grand Cherokee Shroud on the RA4.

After the screws are out pull up from the tab to loosen the shroud and then do the same on the corners. The shroud should loosen and pull off after.

Replace the screws after placing your original bezel on the new unit. There are 2 on each side both t-10 torx screws.

Now that the correct shroud is on the new RA4 unit you can plug the cables back into the unit and screw the 4 7mm screws on each corner in.

ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1425072163.189374.jpg

Replace the bezel and then jump over to the drivers seat to start the car and enter your first time anti theft code.

ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1425072238.875207.jpg

Start the car the RAM LOGO shows up because it is from a dodge. Enter the code and let the unit restart. After the unit wipes itself it will need to rebuild. Once it comes up you will see NAV is active! At that point you need to shut the car off for 30 min and let the unit fall asleep so it can sync with your car. The next time you start your car everything should be good to go! Hope this helps people interested in this mod.

Are you connecting to Uconnect properly? Also, if you have Sirius still you may need to have them do a radio transfer.

Re: * Skunkd's 2015 White GC Altitude *

Well the price I got it for is not typical so don't expect to find one easily for it but I got it for $699. Sadly he doesn't do this full time and doesn't want me to post his information because he programs units from export cars and swaps units with them and doesn't do it frequently enough to make money off of it so he was just doing me a favor. But you should be able to find one around 8-900 if you have an ra3 to swap for it from oem parts co.

Make sure you get a 2015 version if you order. Talk to someone before you order. It's 1,299 plus a core trade in for your Ra3 which brings it under 1000 for the swap if anyone is looking for it quickly they are the best bet.

What offset/backspacing did you end up getting on your wheels to clear the front uprights?
