I went back to the stock Alpine after a month of using the Polk. To me it completely drowned out the front door tweeters and was very overwhelming no matter how much I faded to the rear or kept the treble levels on +1 or +2. I'm just not a fan of having a center channel.

Id prefer the basic 6 speaker system and a JL stealth box over the Alpine any day.

I dunno if it's a quality control issue or what but I never heard my tweeters at all ever lol. I like the less muddy sound with the Polk so far. Doesn't sound muffled anymore.

Whoever tuned this shitty alpine system sucks at life. I typically have the settings 2 notches back from center typically with the bass at +1 mid at -2 and treble at +6. Surround on. Can't win with this thing.

See I've already had the 6 speaker system in a previous '14 tude and think it sounded way more balanced overall. I could actually hear the front tweeters in that system.

I couldn't agree more about the Alpine tuning!!

My settings are as follows.

Stock center channel (again)
Fade to the rear 3 clicks
Bass on +4
Mid +2
Treble +3
Surround On

** note that I did dynamat my sub enclosure over the summer, which helped control the sloppy bass and made the bass a bit more accurate and fuller **

Re: * Skunkd's 2015 White GC Altitude *

We all would probably love a new head unit due to its tuning. I do think the base system with the 8.4 screen is flat and the sound can be upgraded to enjoy all genres of music by upgrading the fronts and rears as a start and moving along from there if needed with amps etc.

Can I put 1 inch spacers on my 2015 JGC limited with the stock 20 inch rims?

Re: * Skunkd's 2015 White GC Altitude *

Some people have had issues with needing to grind down the factory studs to use 1 inch if their wheels didn't have pockets on the hub. Otherwise they would work. 1.25 is the most common size though
