Stock forteras. I will say a set of better tires would have made it even better!

Re: Snow!

Pretty impressive! So explain something to me, if your going through 12+ inches of snow and the clearance is 8+ why doesn't the jeep get stuffed underneath and eventually get stuck.

If they have QL then they can have nearly 12 inches of ground clearance.

Re: Snow!

I do not (and will not) have QL. There is no problem with going through 12+ inches of snow if the snow is dry. I did it today (and it was fun!). However don't try it in wet snow or you will be spinning your tires!!

Neither! The stock Michelin Lattitudes were scary so I got Hankook I Pikes and they are amazing, never had snows before, only different At's. And yes, clearance can become a limiting factor especially as the snow gets "wetter". If it is powder or close to it, the vehicle will just go thru it (move it) and you won't get stuck. After many years of plowing snow you find that each storm you may have to experiment to "see what you've got". I have plowed 20 inches or more sometimes easily and struggled sometimes with 8" ! On you tube search for the video of the Jeep SRT going up a driveway pushing snow, amazing and guarantee it was NOT very wet; powder is great and keeping blacktop under all 4 wheels is also important! Dave

Re: Snow!

Thanks for the replies. Yeah looking at their sigs it didn't look like they had QL. I guess what I'm getting at also is if the snow is wet and the cut does get 'shelfed' can anything get damaged under the vehicle. Again assume no QL and no skids.

No ql here. Snow wasn't dry powder and it also wasn't so wet that I couldn't get through it. I took the lower front valance off that gave more clearance in the front so it doesn't build up snow. Speed, low gears and turning the esc off also allows better traction. A better tire would help too. Although I'm running stock forteras I know a better tire would make it even more enjoyable.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I agree about the tires, I'm definitely leaning toward putting on the Zeons in the 275/55/20 for better traction and some addition clearance.

Re: Snow!

Great pics Dave! Jealous of the snowfall. Like your Cashmere exterior paint too.

Just watching our snow finally melt here in some warmer above freezing weather.

Thanks; I really was not thinking about posting pics at the time I was outside or I would have put more "effort" into them, next time but thinking this could be the last big storm for us this year. Today went to 36 degrees so melting like you although another 2 to 4 tonite! Maybe tomorrow I can get some more pictures. Getting weary of the clean-up, Dave
