I find the ride better than the forteras, some people say they are a bit louder but I don't hear it. Obviously they aren't as good as winter tire would be but I think they are a perfect year rounder for me, plus they look great on the jeep IMO.
Probably about 6ish inches of snow in front of it and a little bit of a snow bank on one side I backed into. I guess he assumed that he didn't need to plow by the doors and I didn't realize I was backing into the snow bank since the Jeep just kept rolling like nothing was there...
We had a constant heavy mist/freezing rain for nearly three days than 5"-6" of snow on top of that. The Jeep handled flawlessly. I purposely drove in the unplowed lanes to really test it out. There was easily a foot of snow from the the plow going through the other lane. No issues!
People looked at me like I was strange but it made for a more enjoyable drive home.
Howling: Outstanding looking Jeep in the snow! We had a mint 2004 that got totaled last year that was the same color that would have looked nice with the mods you have done. How may inches of lift is that? Great looking rig! Dave
I drove from Manchester to Bristol at 8am and was pleased to see the roads were relatively empty compared to the traffic i'm used to. The GC handled the snow like a champ, even with the stock Latitude's!
Kinda a dumb question, but since it's a snow thread and we're talking about lots of snow. if you plow thru some really deep stuff (assuming there is nothing hard underneath) can really deep snow cause any damage to anything underneath the jeep?
You got that right Scooter! I went thru unplowed developments with 14 inches plus drifts today, for fun, did not even phase the Jeep! I am working on some pics to post, glad you had fun with it, I sure did! Dave
Quick video of me coming out of our driveway today. There was about 8in of heavy wet snow, I had taken a 2013 Impreza down the driveway right before and got sort of stuck at the bottom, lot of rocking to get it parked (stock terrible tires). Jeep crawled right out, when I parked back down later I was able to pull the same turn around as the Subaru with no drama at all.... Went out and ran some errands and I passed a lot of stuck cars and never once was the jeep phased going through unplowed snow and drifts at driveway entrances...
Yes I had a talk with my gf about the videoing with the camera up right and it appears YouTube attempted to fix things which messes up the edges... Oh well.
Ok, think piks are going to work?! 14/16 inches plus drifts, old GMC to open up my drive etc. then the Jeep & I went in search of virgin snow on unplowed roads etc; it seems to be unstopable and a joy to drive! Dave
