Re: Stone White GC Overland w/ some mods

I love your ride. Black on white looks outstanding, and much better with the mirrors painted. Wider wheels and tires look awesome. Look forward to hearing more about your experience with tuner once you get it set up with the custom tune. Enjoy.

Thanks man! I've been watching your build up as well. Definitely a nice looking ride you got.

Couple new pics since it was sunny today and I got a chance to clean her up.

Ride looks great. Are those pics at normal ride height? Looks slightly lower than some of your on-road pics from the last page for some reason.
ps.
Getting my rocky mountains put on this weekend as long as they fit right. Crossing my fingers

Thanks for the compliment! The most recent pics are in park height. The pic on page three was in NRH. The ones in the dirt were in ORII if I recall correctly.

What size did you go with and on what wheels?

Re: Stone White GC Overland w/ some mods

I went with the 285/50r20s on my stock Overland wheels. I called up the guys over at Motorsport Tech and they recommended I get the 1.25" spacers so I ordered those which should come in Thursday. Taking the jeep to get tires put on Saturday. I'm a little nervous about whether it will all work out with the stock wheels, wide tires and spacers, but I haven't bought the tires yet, just made an appointment at discount tire so I'll see what they say. After I get that done I'm planning on painting the wheels a darker gray closer to the mineral gray on the body along with all the chrome, getting a more unified look

I think it should fit just fine. The tires shouldn't be wide enough or tall enough to cause any issues.

It'll look great with the spacers but I don't think discount tire will work with spacers. I recall overhearing a conversation when I went in a month ago and the were on the phone with someone asking about spacers and they were pretty clear they will not install and/or service a vehicle with spacers. You may want to call them ahead of time.

Anyways, I plan to remove the lettering on the front doors...It gets very dirty in between the lettering and it's a pain to clean...And now that most of the chrome on my car is gone, the chrome lettering looks out of place.

That's good to know about the lettering. I took off the chrome side pieces and before I did that I thought I was gonna replace it with some of the grey lettering from the trailhawk, but once I took it off, I thought it looked so good that I decided just to keep it. Plus it would have cost something around $100, so that's been a little more incentive to leave it the way it is for me

Your Jeep looks awesome! I'm not a big fan of black wheels etc. but the color combo with the mirrors & grille on white really make your ride stand out. Great job!

Re: Stone White GC Overland w/ some mods

Thanks for the comments all.

Couple pics with the window trim and door handles black. I also removed the Grand Cherokee lettering. Jeep is dirty in the pics but you get the idea. I'll try to get some better pics this weekend after a good wash.

Re: Stone White GC Overland w/ some mods

Looks great Duc. Please post more pics when you get the time as I'd like to see the the trim around the windows up close. The black on white really looks good. If mine was white I'd want it to look like yours. Thinking about wrapping my window trim also but fear it would be too much with my black ext. Awesome work on your ride.

Looks great. What did you do to black out the window trim?

Re: Stone White GC Overland w/ some mods

Thanks guys. I should have some time this weekend to clean up the Jeep and snap some close up pics. Should be warm and in the 70s here this coming weekend.

Dslide, I think the black on black would look great on your Jeep. I've always felt the chrome just looks out of place... unless that is the theme that someone is going for.

Jackal, I had a guy local to me who does a lot of vehicle wrapping, wrap the trim and handles in gloss black vinyl. I was impressed with his skill and ability to wrap the handles. I didn't think it was going to be possible. The whole process was pretty labor intensive and it took about 3.45 hours to wrap the trim and handles.
