Yes.

I'm not one to usually comment on people's tastes. Everyone is entitled to what they want.

My problem is that I don't see an Audi or BMW driver looking at the Summit interior and saying 'wow'. I see them smirking at it and thinking its obnoxious. The only reason this matters to me is that I agree with them and don't want to...

This BMW driver will look at my new Overland Summit and smirk about the 30G I saved not buying a comparably equipped X5.

I really wanted a rattlesnake skin option for the dash, but they haven't made that available yet.

Come to think of it - maybe a bulletproof glass option too?

At the age of 40, my Summit order is a first on a few levels for me... first American car, first SUV and first non-charcoal/black interior.

Over the last 10 years I owned a Mercedes CL500, Mercedes C32 AMG, Kleemann Mercedes CLK55, BMW 550i Sport, Audi A6 4.2 and Nissan GT-R.

Personally, I think the Summit interior looks great and really gives the Jeep a luxurious look. It is definitely the first Jeep interior that has caught my attention in a good way. I was originally thinking about sticking with my classic black interior, but after seeing one in person, I really disliked the brown wood accents. A Ferrari owner that was with me felt that the black interior just looked like another "cheap jeep." I don't agree with that, but I was surprised that I didn't like the interior in my normal color.

In any case, I am happy that there is finally an American car I want to buy. I'll see how the brown interior wears on me, but I'm pretty sure those front braces are getting ditched right off the bat.

The Summit driver can smirk when he's pulling the X5 out of a ditch on the way to Tahoe.

I agree.....I have had so many black or gray interiors....and after seeing the saddle in an Overland....I liked it. Good rich color. I wanted something different and apparently from the saddle restrictions others like it too. And the black wood accents clinched it.

I can see wanting black wood trim with a black interior, but I think they should have had brown wood for the saddle interior. I also think they should have changed up the carpets and alike...I just hate brown and black together. I've said it before but I wouldn't wear brown socks with black shoes or brown shoes with a black suit, those colors just clash in an unpleasant way to my eyes.

But I digress. I am more than happy that there are more interior options for this car than most domestics, and hopefully there will be more to come. I'd really like to see a navy blue or maroon interior option.

Navy in a Range Rover

Maroon in a Wagoneer.

Re: Summit has landed

Triple with what Dan JGC & Kleemann said. I got tired of black leather interiors and really excited to have a throwback brown leather. I didn't first like the new Saddle in the Summit when I had my heart on a pearl green Overland with regular saddle this summer. But the more I looked at it (albeit online in pics), the more the dark wood accents with saddle grew on me. Then when I realized I could pair it with a rugged Brown exterior, my decision was made!

I think saddle with a dark brown wood might look nice, but the Summit with the brown wood in the Overland would be a little scary. Offering the olive/black wood in the Overlands would be nice for those who don't want any black/brown contrasts.

Maybe in the future you will be able to select which trim you like, as is the way in audis and bmws. They should probably add a brushed stainless trim too for the people who don't like wood...although that might clash a bit with the painted center console.
