I was dropping my Jeep off for an oil change tonight and while walking around the lot I found one hidden way in the back.
The pictures really suck since it was so dark back there. It hasn't been cleaned or prepped at all. I never noticed the fog light bezels are not full chrome like the mopar accessory. The summit has a textured finish, it really looks good in person and not gaudy.
4X2 Mineral Grey Overland Summit Hemi $45k
I will be sure to take lot more in the daylight tomorrow.
i tried to convince myself and my wife that the interior was not fugly, but when order time came we couldn't get past it. with all the things they could have done with a top of the line jeep i can't believe they went king ranch.
+1. They also should have went with a brushed finish on the brightwork instead of chrome, like they did with the previous Overland. Chrome just screams cheap domestic to me.
Triple with what Dan JGC & Kleemann said. I got tired of black leather interiors and really excited to have a throwback brown leather. I didn't first like the new Saddle in the Summit when I had my heart on a pearl green Overland with regular saddle this summer. But the more I looked at it (albeit online in pics), the more the dark wood accents with saddle grew on me. Then when I realized I could pair it with a rugged Brown exterior, my decision was made!
The Saddle interior is really Saddle and Black interior...with the Saddle not really being brown-brown per se. So, the rest of the black interior looks good with the black olive wood, black piping on the seats too.
I actually much prefer the fake black wood trim in the Laredo over the Limited and Overland and would be content with that if it saved me a grand or two....
For the most part I like the Summit except for that gawd awful special stitching they have going up the seats. Why couldnt they leave it like normal stitching in the regular Overland?
Well, I am not a fan of monochromatic schemes of all one color (ie, leather, wood, and trim all matching). There should be depth and contrast to everything. How many of you leave the house decked out in white from head to toe each day, like your heading to a white party?
If Jeep really wanted to step things up a notch, they should allow full customization of the interiors....like, mini and land rover. With all the different colors, leathers, and wood options you should be able to configure the color pallet to your taste then pick from what they think is a good combination.
Hell, they can't build them at a decent rate with the stock color pallets, custom builds would probably mean you need to order your 2013 Summit now if you want delivery before 2014!
HAHAHA I know I didn't have the patience to wait, so I bought off the lot. I am really glad I never ordered one, I would have chewed my arm off. At least with my mini it was a quick and smooth process around 8 weeks. They always sent updates on where it was in production and what ship and ports it was arriving on.
The sucky thing is overlands and summits are showing up on lots before people get their orders. I would be livid.
I just saw the Summit in person and I didnt think much of it; The Saddle was overkill ... black wood was a good idea but...
I like my Blackberry and Saddle much better.
I just ordered my mineral grey Summit on monday... i think it will look just like the pictures at the top of this thread. Does anyone know where to get more pictures of the summit? does the dealership that got this one have any on their website?
Jeep is saying i might not be able to get mine until late April/ early may. got it out the door for $47,000... tags, tax, title, etc
GC2011- you said there is a summit on the lot where you are in NC? I'm in Charlotte and there are none on the lots anywhere... can you snap some pictures of it when you get a chance? most everyone on this forum have hard a difficult time getting their eyes on one.
