Re: Summit on Eibach springs

Ok, so I got an alignment this morning. Evenything is pretty good but I've got a lot of camber in the front. I'm going to drive it for a week or two and then take it back in to see if maybe they can even it out a little more. They messed with it for nearly a hour and a half and I actually think the manager just wanted out of the shop so they could move on. BTW when I got home I measure it again and it's dropped nearly another 1/4". I've attached a link to the alignment print out.

Re: Summit on Eibach springs

Yea, another 1/4" doesn't suprise me, pretty typical with Eibachs. When you have time could you post updated pics, preferably outside, so we can get a better sense of wheel gaps, etc. Your first pic was great, but with a black car it's tough to see the details especially in the parking garage.

I thought I read that you were about the same height as the Overland in Park Mode, assume you are a bit lower than that at this point?

Thanks and I'm sure it handles much differently now.

Re: Summit on Eibach springs

Heres the latest and greatest pic....black is hard to photograph so I "enhanced" the pic a little to try an emphasize the tire/fender gap. It's not on flat ground but it's all I got right now.

Re: Summit on Eibach springs

Man, thanks for doing that so quickly (and on Fathers day). Looks great and 100% just made the decision for me. Guess what I just ordered myself as a little Dad's Day Gift!

Looks like you still have a bit of a rake so I'd imagine the 6 cyl's will end up closer to even front to back. I'll take the plunge for our 6 cyl brothers/sisters and let y'all know.

Thanks again.

Yeah, still has more "rake" than I want. I'm going to leave it as is for awhile to see if the rear comes down a little more. If it doesn't I'll be looking for options.....whatever that might be? I might have to cut a 1/4 of a coil off both rear springs.....or carry 500lbs audio equipment in the back.

Well then don't take out your spare tire and jack. I took mine out on the stock springs and it went up about a 1/4". Didn't weigh the tire/jack but has to weigh a ton.

Once I get them installed (should be this week or early next) I'll see what we are dealing with and may have some suggestions. My buddy owns a performance shop and has all kinds of tricks up his sleeve.

Thanks.

Cool, let me know. I was up under it last night trying to think of ways to bring the rear down. I'm going to call Eibach some time today to ask them why my front camber is 1 degree more than than what they claim it should be.

BTW, My measurements from the center of the wheel to the fender is exactly what they claim it should be.

Re: Summit on Eibach springs

Just an observation today. Went to Lunch with a few coworkers today and we took my Jeep.....because I have the coolest vehicle but that's another story. With 2 average sized guys in the back seat I noticed that the rear fender gap reduced a lot and I was on empty. So with a full tank of fuel and a couple of people in the back seat I bet it will be almost level.

Re: Summit on Eibach springs

I know it's not apples to apples, but I think this is interesting. I put Eibachs on the Yukpo I had and it was perfectly level on all four corners.

I was impressed by how much better the Yukon handled after the change. I am looking forward to doing this.

Re: Summit on Eibach springs

Eibach does their homework so the comparison isn't that far off in my humble. Have had them on my last few cars (sans the Corvette) and they simply don't disappoint.
