Fortunately, I had all the affiliate pricing information printed out and in hand....all the stuff from the Tread Lightly and direct from the Chrysler website on the affiliate pricing program....she looked at it and quickly found where it said that....she pretended as if she was just learning this for the first time...
Dan - Congrats on the new ride, looks great! I will be getting mine here in the coming weeks and would like to know where exactly in the information from Tread Lightly or the Chrysler affiliate pricing website does it say that a dealer fee can't be charged? I know on the forum it has been said many time, but I have yet to see anywhere on any of the forms, etc that it says this. Thanks, and enjoy the ride!

Re: The Summit has landed!

^^^ I don't have the copies anymore....but I had the TL letter and printouts from the affiliate website which also states:

"Q. Are there any other fees I should know about?
A. An administration fee of $75 applies to the Affiliate Rewards program."

and

"* The Preferred Price is the maximum amount you will be charged by a participating U.S. dealer for an eligible vehicle. See dealer for details. A $75 administration fee applies."

And there is also an 888 phone number listed too....

Re: The Summit has landed!

"Participating Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep® dealers are required to show Affiliate Rewards Program participants a copy of the vehicle’s factory invoice. Take a minute to look through it to ensure that the Preferred Price* (PP) has been properly applied to your purchase or lease agreement. You should be able to easily identify the Preferred Price on the bottom of the invoice."

Re: The Summit has landed!

I can also confirm that the natural green Overland that I saw there and was picked up yesterday too had about a month delay (I on 1/27, KZ on 2/22) as a result going to the body vendor...it had the Chrome Edition Group by Mopar. So, that is something to think about when ordering...maybe just add after delivery to avoid delays....

Re: The Summit has landed!

Thanks. I can just see the dealer telling me that I AM being charged the preferred price for the vehicle, these are additional fees. The above indicates a $75 fee exists, but doesn't explicitly say other fees don't apply. I just need to hold strong like you and hopefully they will cave. I also have a call in to the affiliate number to see if I can get something in writing from Chrysler.

One things is for sure, the internet and forums like these sure do make a far more educated buying experience. Thanks Dan and everyone else for posting their experiences!

Re: The Summit has landed!

Congrats Dan--- it's good to see all the excitement with the Summit. it only confirms my decision that the Summit is the right car for me.
We need a few more pictures. Also, the 730 vs. the 430. can you deliver any hands on experience difference between the two?

You mentioned you stopped for a bit to eat. Just wondered if you ate in the new Summit? My girlfriend will not smoke, eat or even allow a water bottle in hers. Makes it hard for long trips.

Re: The Summit has landed!

^^^ Nope....eating is banned inside for maybe the first year! LOL Beverages, in approved containers, are OK. Just kidding on the approved containers... I don't smoke and wouldn't allow it anyway in any car....... if you smoke, try snus instead...a smoke free nicotine tobacco that you don't need to spit...the far lesser of a health issue too.

LOL..... I have just switched to the new water vapor types.
I too will not allow it, even on the real long trips. Due to a back problem I need to get out of the car every 40 to 60 minutes anyway. The back problem is one of the reasons I am switching to the Overland. I rented one while on a business trip in December and had no issues. First time in years that I could sit in a car for longer than an hour without pain.

So are you still wiping the dust off the Summit as it lands.
I already have my new parking spot at work eyeballed for when I get mine next week. Found a nice spot that no one can park next to me...

Enjoy

Also nice is the glove compartment....there is an upper tray that you can put the manual pouch in that leaves the rest of the glove compartment free...good size too....

Re: The Summit has landed!

The blind spot detection system with the yellow warning triangles in the side mirrors is very helpful....great feature.
