Alright, so let's try this again, since previously I was unaware that post editing was limited in timeframe. I'm new to the forum, so this thread is starting a good ways into the build already, but believe me when I say there is so much more to do!
Unfortunately I'm not all that great at keeping posts as up-to-date as possible, so for anyone who wants the most recent updates to TheSkiingJeep, please feel free to check out:
Build Website
Official Instagram
Official Facebook (I really don't update this one often, but I do have plans for it in the future! )
So since this build is constantly evolving, I can't exactly put a list of modifications planned here, as even already-installed parts could change up months, or even weeks down the line.
So why did I decide to pursue this type of build? Well, I really enjoy being outdoors. Shot archery competitively for a while, and have been a big fan of competitively shooting pistol(9mm mainly) & rifle(556 mainly) as well. However, my favorite things involve skiing, as well as hiking, camping etc. So that's what lead me to choose to pursue the Overlanding Style for the build, something that isn't often seen for many Jeeps, let alone the WK2, but is popular in other auto lines, especially trucks.
Something that needs to be said about this build, is I am not building this for rock crawling, jumping or purposely beating up, although it is fully capable of those if I decide to... This is the rig that helps me explore our country, the outdoors, and ultimately get into areas others can not. It should also be pointed that this is in fact my daily driver.
This build originated(began) in Anchorage, AK with a home base in Colorado while traveling over the US(and hopefully other countries as well). This is also my first build, so any input(even negative for you haters out there, I see you!) is accepted!
And since I can't go back and update this picture to the most recently, I'll simply put a picture here of when I first got the Jeep
Hopefully everyone enjoys the build and being along for the journey as much as possible!
