Did a quick detail this weekend so I thought I would post some recent pics including some of the fantastic Toucoul ipad2 mount.
The mount is awesome - if you have little ones in the back this thing works like a mute button! Stick on some of their fav cartoons and your set. And the best part is you can take it out when you get home and use it as a grown-up toy
Minimal mods so far:
Front windows tinted
Rear taillights tinted
Rear badges removed
Rear chrome step-pad surround added
BWoody Sway Links
Removed front lower air damn flares

Thanks for the comments guys, the ipad mount really is exactly what I was looking for. There are a lot of options out there but many others have bad reviews if you do some digging on google etc. This one offers great flexibility and the quality is top notch.
Ricko: I went with 35% because they are sticky about tint here. I think it looks great and its still blends in nicely with the rears.
Nice pix , thanx for sharing...I am thinking about installing the chrome step pad as well on my X, it looks great on yours, did u do it yourself? If so, easy? difficult?....
SixZeroFour, looks very nice!
I also have an X and would like to change out the rear bumper pad. Would you happen to have the item number for the chrome piece you ordered? Thanks!
Those mounts are a good idea. Jeep should offer Ipad docking stations like that in the headrests that will also keep them charged. Mercedes has this option in the 2012 ML. It would also not make buyers have to choose between the pano sunroof and the DVD system.
Ride looks good man! Leather really makes the interior pop.
I was wondering if you have 2 trail rated badges on your GC? Mine came with one "Driver side only". Just wondering if you put the passenger side badge on there or if it came like that?
Could you post a better picture of the Vehicle with the lower air damn removed?

Next up may be color matching the grille which looks great on your Jeep btw.
I added the trail rated badge to the passenger side... looked strange and unbalanced with only the one IMO.
As for the air dam, here is a link to a quick DIY I did that has some better pics. Front end looks cleaner with them removed and it's one less thing to scrape on curb stops etc.
The thread didn't work to see how to snap it in? can you PM and explain it to me? I got 1 today and don't want to pay the dealer for the install ! Thanks : )
Essentially all you need to do is is pull up and out at one of the corners of the existing trim. When I removed the stock black one it came off fairly easily but the chrome that's on there now takes a little more effort to remove.
If it does not pop up and out easily try taking a putty knife or a large flatheat screwdriver - wrap a clean cotton or microfibre towel over the end and use it to gently pry up and out at the same corner. As soon as it releases one side you'll be able to get it off quite easily. Once that is out of the way just snap the new one back in place.
nice looking' GC man. now all you need is a mobile wifi hotspot so you can FaceTime from the road. I believe that you can sync your iPad to the Nav via bluetooth, and play a movie on it for your backseat passenger with the audio playing on the sound system, if you would so desire to do so. It's like having a movable dvd player screen.

Great idea, I honestly never even thought about it pairing it to the sound system... now it looks like I need the TSB for iphone/ipad connectivity issues because the playback speed is messed up and very choppy. Cool feature either way.
Now I'm interested to see if the ipad streams better over bluetooth than my blackberry for music. Blackberry's not too bad but scratchy at higher volumes.
Thanks to JG I was able to download and install the TSB myself last night!
The iPad now sync's perfectly with the Jeep and surprisingly it is much better sound quality streaming from the iPad than my blackberry. Couldn't be happier with the 430N.
Where did you pick up the mount? and BTW, I haven't attempted it yet, however how would you get the ipad to stream? For example say your playing a movie... Its not like its connecting to the NAV such as a phone call. Thus its just like a ipod via USB? When you hit play it goes through the speakers.
Thanks for the pictures!
I was thinking of getting a lockpick to watch movies for trips for the front passenger, but now that I see the ipad I forgot that I have one, and could essentially do the same thing and play movies on the ipad, its even a bigger screen.

And yeah, for the iPad I just paired it to the 430N just like you would a phone. Then on the "AUX" tab under Media there is a devices button close to the play button - if you hit this you can then pick which device is active over the Jeep's speakers (either you phone or ipad). Once the iPad is selected anything you play on it will be played for all to hear.
When you get an incoming call, it automatically pauses the iPad, picks up your call and then will resume the audio/video once you hang up - pretty cool. I was worried that once you select the iPad as the audio source it may drop the bluetooth connection with the phone but this is not the case.
