Hey everyone I am on the verge of upgrading my Liberty to either a Grand Cherokee Altitude with the V6 or the 12' Overland V8..

Just wanted to pick the forum's brain about some of the pros and cons of either or.

Right now I can grab a low mileage and low priced Altitude V6 and have the extra cash to do the necessary performance upgrades (Corsa exhaust, K&N CAI, and the hypertech interceptor tuner).

But from all my research the Overland is 'crim de la crim' if you will.

I live in Beaver Creek, CO so having the Overland V8 option seems the most plausible as mountain driving requires more power.

What do you guys think? Any info on reliability across the V6 or V8? Wouldn't the V8 be good for rock climbing? Or can I get the same power with all the upgrades on the V6?

I am a noob when it comes to all this stuff , but I am wanting to learn all that I can!

Thanks guys.

We have the 5.7L powerplant and I can say this. I used to pull my Polaris RZR 800s on a 6X14 trailer with a 2007 Z71 4x4 with a 5.3L. Our '15 JGC Overland will without a doubt pull circles around the ole heavy chevy. We average around 18/19 mpg while running errands and roughly 14 mpg while towing.

I still don't think you read the first post completely, still lol. He is looking at either a 12 Altitude V6 or a 12 Overland V8. I'd chose the Overland, it's way nicer.

Besides the fact, this thread is somewhat old, he either has already made a decision or the vehicles are no longer for sale...
