WK2 off-road

Since we've finally had some nice weather here in mid MO I decided to head out to the trails and find out what the WK2 is made of. I have been really curious with how the QTII and Michelin Latitudes would hold up and I was quite surprised. I found a trail that has a nice range of obstacles ranging from rocks, mud pits, and water crossings. I bottomed out about every 50 ft and the skid plates held up well as I still have all my fluids. The BTC would kick in every now and then through the mud but the Jeep never hesitated and just kept pushing through. Unfortunately I came upon what can only be described of as a small lake in the middle of the trail, I started to venture across but when the water started to reach the top of the rims I decided to call it quits and turn around. All in all I was pretty impressed given the all-season rubber. This thing would probably be a beast with some good A/ts. Here are some pics of the fun.

You can't even see the end of this thing

The Latitudes packed with mud but they still kept traction

She looks a lot better with a little mud

Re: WK2 off-road

Great shots, those tires did look useless but it seems that the 4x4 system kept you rolling and that's why the WK2 is such a contender. The 2nd to last shot is my fav.

It really bugs me that the Laredo - the model that owners are most likely willing to take offroad - can't be ordered with Quadra Lift.
