Re: Alludc's ... "less stinky than Skunkd's" Altitude build

How is the ride confort with bilstein compared to RRO lift with stock shocks?

Tons better overall. Less noise, less harsh. Nice on highway. I'm very impressed

Re: Alludc's ... "less stinky than Skunkd's" Altitude build

Hello Alludc,

I am a big fan of your build and trying to keep up with the mod options out there as a relatively new jeep owner.

I am a little curious. I see that you have now the OEM Altitude "rails" and the Yakima Whispbars with adaptors and cargo rack. To me that sounds like a great setup. However in this post you have plans to move to the Gobi cargo system. What is pushing you that way? Does it have to do with how that over all look with change, the large cargo area, that fact that i believe that system direct mounts with out need for the altitude "rail"?

You see I have an Altitude as well and I am trying my hardest to discern the benefits from all the options out there.

Any insight into your though process my help me out as well.

Lastly did you have a link to the Gobi system your referring to?

I love my current setup, but im looking for a few more things since I use this vehicle so much. #1, more overall capacity for the roof. #2, lower profile. #3, fully functional tire carrier.

My Gobi rack is coming custom. Its starting as a Gobi Stealth, with a couple tweaks ive asked them to make, including a built in tire carrier setup. here is the stealth for wk2 Gobi Racks - Hummer, Jeep, Toyota Racks

Again, I love my current setup, but with the spare up top...not much room for anything else, even if I use the extender for my curt rack, it leaves me wanting.

As far as the whispbars go, im quite happy with how nice they fit, very secure, and low profile. much lower than my oem chrome rails and mopar bars were on my 2012. If you have an altitude, the base rails and whispbars is top option IMO. Mine are for sale btw.
