WK project build
Hey jeep fans and enthusiast, I have some ideas I thought I'd share not sure if this I the right place to post but ok.
I'm forced to sell my 06 jeep grand Cherokee due to gas mileage problems. So here's my plan get a fuel efficient car then build a salvage title WK into a tank.
I plan on finding a salvage jeep with minimal(I know it's a salvage title) rear end damage. I'm looking for a 5.7L so I could drop a new engine in her and maybe have a good trans. (But I have been reading that the 6.1L Hemi's can match up with the 3.7L trans so I might end up with that.) Any input on another engine choice? Maybe a deisel?
Before I put the motor and trans in I plan on waterproofing everything and get the snorkel fitted to the outside. Then once everything is waterproofed and the motor and trans are in place then I'll put a new exhaust and cat converter on it and a few more things. Once the car is mechanically waterproof and safe then it's time for the outside. I'm putting a 3.5- 4 in. Lift, wheel spacers, and big tires, (not sure the size yet) roof rack, grill guard, lights bar, other off road lights, aftermarket fender flares?,snorkel, and probably more. after all that I plan on trying to make my own skid plate to make it bullet proof underneath.
Sorry there arent any part names or anything it's all just a plan that I'm going to try and start this summer. To anyone that has done this before, part recommendations would be great!
Thanks for reading- Alex
