Re: DC Auto Show Pictures

Lexus had some really nice cars this year. I like the IS350C also.

Re: DC Auto Show Pictures

This my friends is a slice of heaven! OK the real heaven will also have a ton of scantily clad young ladies standing near the Mustangs. Thanks for taking and sharing the pics Paul.

Joe, do Mustangs still use a solid rear axle? (besides the Cobra)

Re: DC Auto Show Pictures

Yes they do and to be honest the wheel hop with a stock suspension is worse than most most Jeeps I've ever driven. It is sort of a Mustang "tradition" based on Ford's desire to remain true to the original pony car intent of extreme power the average man can afford.

But now that the rest of the competition has caught up and surpassed that, don't you think it's time for them to join the rest of the automakers and introduce IRS into the 'stang?

I hated my old 'stang for this reason (among many others, lol).

Re: DC Auto Show Pictures

I've drive vehicles with a live rear axle since I was 16 and find IRS vehicles feel strange to me. So I am probably the last person to ask if Ford should change with the rest. I am use to axle hop and fully expect it to happen. I do know that when I let others drive the Mustang who have no real experience with live rear axles, it tends to freak them out.

So if they still have a live axle when I go to purchase a new one, it won't really matter to me. If they have finally moved on to an IRS, chances are I'll be able to quickly adjust. Either way, it won't really sway my decision.
