Re: DC/VA/MD Check-In

Hi does anyone know of any mild-moderate trails in the VA/MD/WVA area. I know the beach driving on the coast but not familiar with any medium level trails farther inland or mountains. mine is stock with added skid plates and tow hooks so not looking for anything too intense. Seems like out west has all the great trails and parks for this not as many local that I am aware of?

Good question, here in central VA there is not much. You need to get into George Washington and Jefferson National Forests then still somewhat limited.

Get the "Motor Vehicle Use Map 2015 - George Washington and Jefferson National Forests" its really good and about 90 pages of trails/uses, US Forest Service puts it out, phamplet # I think is FS-873-808.

I heard Taskers Gap and Peters Mill Run as well as Shoe Creek, top of Crab tree falls around Charlottesville is pretty good. Can't help MD, but I bet WV has a ton.

I am like you mild to med stuff, no rock crawling. Once I get my armor on I'll be checking these places out.

Weekend of 9/11 Va4wda.org has a big campout at Cove Campground, Gore VA at Ball Mountain. I may take drive to check them out.

Arlington, VA. 2014 Summit

Anyone know of a reputable shop in NOVA that can install my tires on 22" wheels and mount/balance? Also looking for a tint shop to do my front windows.

Don't know about mounting tires on huge rims, unfortunately.

However, I recently used a local guy for the tint on my Subaru. He works out of his Garage in Aldie (which will be a crazy drive for you). It took him a few hours to do the removal/install, but it looks good and he uses a good quality ceramic film (don't get the metallic - definitely spend the extra bucks to get a quality ceramic film!). If you go onto the forums at www.nasioc.com you can find him as user "Tinted Out" (might be TintedOut).

If that's too far, I've heard good things about a shop called Tint FX in Lorton. You can check them out at Automotive - Window Tinting Fairfax Virginia | Tint FX | Auto Tint | Car Tint | Residential Tint | Commercial Tint

Thanks for the info piratius. I had TintFX on my list, just emailed them about a quote. Aldie a little far just to get the windows tinted.
