There's a few of us here that peruse the forums daily. As I read this thread Midwest Members I realize that there are a lot of us in Chicagoland.

Let's meet ! The Subaru guys do it (and I know some of you)...every car club does it. I have already met fellow Grand Cherokee owners on the board. There seems to be a new Jeep club sprouting every few weeks, and even though I belong to one FOX RIVER JEEP CLUB , those folks run primarily Wranglers. They are GREAT guys.

Belonging to a Wrangler club is a major limiting factor as it restricts the amount of cautious, calculated fun that we could have with our vehicles. I've run with them at Badlands and I reassure you that the Grand Cherokee can hang out with the Wranglers on 95% of the terrain. Though 95% of us do not want the 95% of the scratches a car would incur driving through the trails there (thru the forest - sand dunes are OK).

Therefore, I propose to all of us, Chicagoland Jeep Grand Cherokee owners, that we hold that our own regular meets, discuss ideas, exchange car parts, educate each other on DIY projects, help each other and so on. I know that the vehicle platform (Grand Cherokee) does not lend itself to extensive mods (unlike a Wrangler or a Subaru) and the type of owner (likely middle aged professional) tends to be busy with family and work. But if you waste 2-3 hours a week on the forums, you surely can come to a 2-3 hour meet once every couple of weeks. And, as I found out over the years, car meets are just another venue for bringing like minded people together, for other hobbies and/or interest - even though you'll never wrench a single bolt on your car.

I would like to see what interest there is among the forum members for having such a meet. Most car clubs pick a weekday evening and meet for 2-3 hours at a restaurant/pub/bar of choice. I know Subaru NASIOC (Impreza) guys do it Thursdays in Schaumburg. When I ran the Subaru Legacy GT meetings, we would rotate locations between Downers Grove and Schaumburg in order to accommodate everyone.

So ...who's interested? My goal is to have a first such meet before the end of the year - 2 months away.

So after going back and looking at the pics from the original thread, and comparing those LEDs to the color in my '15 Limited...I think they changed the color of the LED's in the 2015's. Mine are way more of a light blue than blue-green. I will try to snap some pics tonight once it gets dark out to show you guys. This is probably better suited for the "Changes to the 2015" thread, but can anyone confirm a change in color for the ambient LEDs for the 2015s?

Yea I think it looks awesome too. I read thru that thread but I just wanted to get some feedback from someone that had done it to see if there was any part of the process that you would have done different, or any tips you could pass along after doing it. I don't have any experience soldering, but I'm an expert at learning via Youtube lol, so I think I can figure it out. Where did you buy your leds?

So I was the the dealership yesterday getting some work done on the SRT (had passenger seat frame replaced due to noise), and we were talking about how the 2015s had started to show up at the dealership. He casually mentioned that if I was going to do anything, to wait until 2016 - FOR WHEN JEEP ROLLS OUT THE SRT WITH THE HELLCAT ENGINE IN IT! So, that's some pretty interesting news.

mine are greenish.
I have had problems with the speedometer but not speed wise but reporting in metric (kph) units while my map was using imperial (miles) units. And as recently as last night, my GPS accuracy was off by 50 - 100 yards for about 10 minutes. I am on my 3rd unit.

Is anyone remotely interested in off roaring on this site? Nothing crazy, a sand dune here and there...
