There's a few of us here that peruse the forums daily. As I read this thread Midwest Members I realize that there are a lot of us in Chicagoland.

Let's meet ! The Subaru guys do it (and I know some of you)...every car club does it. I have already met fellow Grand Cherokee owners on the board. There seems to be a new Jeep club sprouting every few weeks, and even though I belong to one FOX RIVER JEEP CLUB , those folks run primarily Wranglers. They are GREAT guys.

Belonging to a Wrangler club is a major limiting factor as it restricts the amount of cautious, calculated fun that we could have with our vehicles. I've run with them at Badlands and I reassure you that the Grand Cherokee can hang out with the Wranglers on 95% of the terrain. Though 95% of us do not want the 95% of the scratches a car would incur driving through the trails there (thru the forest - sand dunes are OK).

Therefore, I propose to all of us, Chicagoland Jeep Grand Cherokee owners, that we hold that our own regular meets, discuss ideas, exchange car parts, educate each other on DIY projects, help each other and so on. I know that the vehicle platform (Grand Cherokee) does not lend itself to extensive mods (unlike a Wrangler or a Subaru) and the type of owner (likely middle aged professional) tends to be busy with family and work. But if you waste 2-3 hours a week on the forums, you surely can come to a 2-3 hour meet once every couple of weeks. And, as I found out over the years, car meets are just another venue for bringing like minded people together, for other hobbies and/or interest - even though you'll never wrench a single bolt on your car.

I would like to see what interest there is among the forum members for having such a meet. Most car clubs pick a weekday evening and meet for 2-3 hours at a restaurant/pub/bar of choice. I know Subaru NASIOC (Impreza) guys do it Thursdays in Schaumburg. When I ran the Subaru Legacy GT meetings, we would rotate locations between Downers Grove and Schaumburg in order to accommodate everyone.

So ...who's interested? My goal is to have a first such meet before the end of the year - 2 months away.

As you all can see, we operate on the principles of "strength by inclusion" and "if we can't beat them, join them" - when it comes to Subaru vehicles and their drivers. Guilty of that myself, I organized the Jeep meeting then showed up to the Jeep meet in my Subaru :) Wife needed the Jeep that day, which is after-all her daily driven vehicle.

Let's get the next meet scheduled up. I could do Saturday the 14th. Anyone interested?

Hey Guys anyone interested in getting their Chrome window trim wrapped? We talked about it a bit at the meet up and we could see if there would be a group discount if we got a few Vehicles. I would probably start by calling Xtreme Graphics in villa park. Let me know if you are interested and I will give them a call soon. Thanks

I Got My Window Trim Wrapped by them. So far it's ok. I see the edges curling a tad bit. I highly suggest not getting your Grill Inserts Wrapped! Within 2 days they started Peeling off! You can buy the Grill inserts painted Black now.

I always loved the way the zeon looks, I am just a little nervous of the reviews about how these handle in the snow.

What are your thoughts about the current conditions out there on and how did these perform?

Don't be nervous... I have had them on for the last 2 winters and No problems, by me they don't plow until 6am and i leave at 4am it is about 10mi until i get to I-80 and i have alot of open fields that drift over. I am very happy with the Zeons

So we discussed this at the last meet and now that it's 50 degrees out the jeep mod bug is biting. Just taking a quick poll if there is anyone on here that has been thinking about getting their window trim wrapped? I want to reach out to Xtreme graphics in villa park and see if they will give us a discount for multiple vehicles. I am open to calling other places as well if you all have recommendations! So far myself and another member are in. f1fanatic are you still in? That would make 3. Let me know! Thanks
