Holy crap, I drive right near you folks every day.
Don't loiter much since they closed down that place where the old draft horse was kept.

Is there a retail store at the 587 South Taylor Ave location?

Re: Denver and Colorado roll call

Hey guys, I am new to Colorado and to WKs. I just moved from Minneapolis, MN to Lakewood, CO and welcomed a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hemi to my family as my winter/camping vehicle.

I also have a 2005 Chrysler 300C SRT8 with a 426ci Stroker and a lot of other mods.

I look forward to meeting the Colorado WK crew and fellow Mopar fans in the area. Are there any WK clubs, or Mopar clubs here in the Denver area?

What's the next event in the area?

Re: Denver and Colorado roll call

I'm going to be driving out to Denver next week for vaca. Can any of you recommend a fairly easy off the beaten path trail to take my jeep and wife thru? I'm a rookie and the Jeep is stock right down to the tires. Any suggestions welcomed!!!

I've been around here for a little while, but never looked for a Denver group. Hi all!

Disclaimer: I think we are about on 30 days and 30 nights of rain, so if you see really a really big boat, make friends with the captain...

Roughly where you going to be?

What type of Jeep?

Even the new GC can handle just about anything...

Kinda depends on where you'll be hanging out.

I don't think Fall River Road in the National Park is open yet, is a nice one way uphill road/trail... I'd check, as it is very nice scenery if the rains don't wash it away.

I haven't been on Switzerland Trail over by Gold Hill, Ward after winter and all the rains, but it is usually in such good shape even Hondas can make most of it.

[If you can drive thru Ward without humming Dueling Banjos from Deliverance, you are a better person than I am...]

Check out this site:

TrailDamage.com

Russell Gulch is quite nice, ditto Yankee Hill particularly if you have kids into gold mines. Actually once you get to Central City and keep going, there are all sorts of old trails branching off everywhere.

There's also Oh-My-God Road which isn't nearly as bad as the name sounds...

Over by Rollinsville, there is the road up to the tunnel, and there is also another road taking off northward on the south side of the creek there.

Jeep Road over by St. Marys is nice, but can be a tad rough in spots.

Denver and Colorado roll call

You might look into taking the Rampart Range Road (FS 300) to travel between Denver and Colo Spgs when you come to see Pikes Peak (by the way if you drive up the Pikes Peak Highway envision driving up at 10:30 at night New Years Eve and then back down shortly after midnight on snow packed road. I've done it several years for the AdAmAn hiking club. It's a blast)

You could also drive the "Old Stage Road" between Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek if you were planning to check out the gold mines or the gambling.

Along with the traildamage website checkout funtreks also for trail information and have fun.
