Moving to San Diego

Hey guys I'm considering leaving the Chicago area for the San Diego area and was curious if anyone could recommend or offer any info on better areas etc.
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum or prohibited, just looking for some insight from the locals.

Thanks in advance

Re: Moving to San Diego

It's been about six years since I was last there, but I spent about that amount of time in SD. It is an expensive place to live but has a lot to offer. What specifically are you looking for/what is making you consider SD?

Re: Moving to San Diego

Thanks for the reply, I'm looking to see which areas are considered the best places to live. Schools, crime, etc. I have two still in high school.

Any info on wheeling, jeep, Atv and dirt bikes. Etc.

I have a job offer there and am considering it mainly for the weather and proximity to Mexico, we have a place there and spend a bit of time down there.

Re: Moving to San Diego

That makes sense. Depends on where your offer is as SD is a big county. If it's in downtown SD, Coronado is right across the bay and is one of the best places to live in that area. Very expensive though. It's kind of a small town right next to the big city. Very low crime aside from kids stealing bikes and that stuff. Great beaches and a lot of people that don't live in Nado send their kids to the high school there. I couldn't tell you much about off road activities but I'd assume east county probably has some solid areas as it's closer to the desert. I couldn't tell you much else about the area since I went to high school in Coronado and it's kind of a bubble.

Thanks again, I'll look into Coronado.
