Re: Finally, our own area
Me wee Da, hailed from Dumbarton, apprenticed in the shipyards, and immigrated to Canada at the tender age of 25, held to his Scottish heritage and accent till the day he passed...especially after a wee dram. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I'm looking forward to my annual bit of haggis with neeps and tatties and a wee bit of cock a leekie soup, at the Robbie Burns Dinner, piped in by the world class SFU pipe band on the 25th.(21st. this year) We have quite a large Scottish population here in BC, And I venture to say, There will be more than a couple of Grand Balls swinging under a tartan that night, celebrating the life of the great poet, with a dram or two in his honor...
How Aboot that eh?
