Billet door locks

I made some new door locks today, just the preliminary design. Still have to come up with a way to screw them on. The thread on the rod is sort of a self tapping thread for plastic. Gonna make some sort of adapter..

Re: Billet door locks

Will they disappear into the door when locked?

Re: Billet door locks

I'm trying to think of a solution for the threading on...... what is the WK actuator rod made of? Wire rod I'm assuming, with a coarse thread that "cuts" a thread into the plastic factory door locky knobby thing?

The rod barely sticks up thru the door panel and I am trying to avoid taking the door panel off and removing that rod. I may have to bite the bullet and buy one so I can measure threads for sure...

Re: Billet door locks

its a self tapping thread guys and not an exact match to ANY current taps...... I asked machinists...........

a new threaded rod end cost like 6 bux at the stealer..... then it would need looked at someone could MAYBe make a custom tap for it,,,,,,,NOT SURE.

I asked another vendor that made mine and they made a custom tool to cut threads.
