Fall mods & suggestions on future mods...

Hi all,

I just finished up my 08+ conversion, going to get the paint work done to match it all up in October (busy with Army stuff until then) but for now just planning out Fall mods.

I pulled the rear bumper tonight and separated the chrome strip, when I get the front end painted I'm going to have them shoot the strip to match (Steel Blue Metallic) going to leave the 4 small sensors chrome since I don't know if painting over them will get the system all angry

Also anyone have a recommendation for some strong epoxy? My carbon fiber rear strip is pulled up on the corners, so I'm going to take it off and clean up the tape (this is my second time trying to use 3M double sided tape to keep it down but it always pulls back up).

Hmm what else, plan on getting the carbon fiber mirror covers and that should finish up the exterior - OEM spoiler is the only other thing I can think of.

Question for the community - recently picked up the NAV radio bezel - now I just need a nav, so what do you guys think, MYGIG or after-market? I'm leaning towards a nav that uses the Garmin maps & touchscreen is a plus.

Input would be great, suggestions on future mods would are always welcome!

Re: Fall mods & suggestions on future mods...

Mike, the corners of my rear step pulled off as well. I just pulled it off the other stay, cleaned the bumper and pulled the tape off the step. I put new 3m top on it, only in the front and corners.
I used that primer stuff to clean the bumper, then put the step back on. once that done, don't put the pins in because that is going to put pressure on the back, allowing the front to pop up. Instead, use tape as well to tape it down to keep pressure on it for a night or so... I did this and so far no issues what so ever.

Re: Fall mods & suggestions on future mods...

johnny, i did everything you did - well i put 3M tape on the bumper then another piece of the rear strip itself (so tape on tape contact) held for about a week then started to peel (although i did put the 4 pins back in - so looks like ill try it again and leave the pins out) let me know how yours holds up.

i have the pins all out now and it still wants to pull up - that's why i was thinking of just using some epoxy.

quad projectors eh? would it make it look funny? ill have to look at some pics.

Here you go. You might not like it though. You seem like an OEM type of guy if you ask if it would look funny.

Re: Fall mods & suggestions on future mods...

hehe you got me laughing at the OEM type of guy comment You're right though I do like the clean look of OEM. Those lights looks nice, something to think about down the road, I'd get a pair of those aftermarket "OEM" projector (someone has them here) headlights and mess with them.

How do you like that Pioneer unit you have? Looks really nice, I think you can add nav to it too IIRC.

Re: Fall mods & suggestions on future mods...

It's really nice. I just think aftermarket HU's are better than OEM HU's. Like the aftermarket camera I have is crystal clear compared to the Mopar rear camera.

I'm the clean OEM type of guy too but I like a twist on OEM. I like to stay one step ahead of the OEM look.
