Angry hood problems

I got an 07 srt jeep and im having problems with the hood staying up... so I went to got buy a new shock for the hood but did not solve problem. ... I was wondering if there needs to be another one on the other side in order to stay up need help asap

did you buy the oem hood strut? Some of the aftermarket are too weak for some reason.

the strut is bad then if it doesn't hold the oem hood. The oem hood is aluminum and light for what it is.

a new oem strut doesn't hold it up? You sure its an oem aluminum hood? I used a aftermarket steel tiawan hood on my old 2006 for about 3 months and never had a problem. It weighed 4x what the oem weighed.

Like Scott said, that hood strut should hold that hood up no matter what. Did you try taking it back? Maybe it was faulty.... Not sure how much lighter the medic hood would be over aluminum.
