Re: I love this hood!

Well the hood showed up today, it was packaged very nicely, I left it wrapped up and dropped it off at the body shop. The body shop is waiting on the Insurance adjuster to show up for some addendums to the original quote, hopefully it will be done and back in my hands Monday or Tuesday. Will get his review of the fir and pics ASAP.

Re: I love this hood!

The body guy sadi this is the best fitting fiberglass hood he has ever installed! There are minor low spots along the fender line, but IMHO not enough of an issue to even worry about

Re: I love this hood!

Yes it is from Trufiber, and it was 1100.00 shipped. I ordered it Thursday the 10th, and it was delivered yesterday. Funny thing is it was at the local depot Tuesday but they did not get to it until yesterday. My current conundrum is what to do to the underside. It is finished as nicely as the top is, so It is getting painted gloss black, but I feel I should run some type of hood pad to keep the hood from cooking, I just hate having to hide it.

Honestly the best angle for the hood is from the driver's seat that view is menacing. That is what I do not like about the cowl hoods, I do not like the view from MY perspective while driving. The Jeep is going to be done at the body shop Monday, so I will get some more pictures in color then.

I can get Hushmat at a discount from jobber pricing, I just hate having to hide that great looking hood.

Re: I love this hood!

I'll get some pics, but it is ducted to a rectangular hole in the air cleaners general vicinity. It actually lines up pretty closely to the lid of my Volant air box. I think I am going to make a open lid with a seal that seals to the bottom of the hood to provide true Ram-air. Not sure If I will add a shield to the top of the filter to keep the water off, or just revert to the standard Volant lid for the rainy season, or both. I'll probably do both. So I will end up with the brake duct ram aid mod, the hood, and the snorkel from the grille, that should get enough air to the 392
