If this has been spoken of please excuse my starting a new thread. When I sat in a 2012 GC Limited I did like how tight the dashboard appears to be and how it is not all plastic like our SRT8'S. My question is has anyone wrapped their entire dash in leather with a baseball glove type stitch? I am interested in doing this and before I go out and find someone to do this I figured I would ask you guys if anyone has done it and if not why? On my 2009 the area above the cluster is wrapped so I figured why not do the entire dash. Your thoughts?
they are from export models but i am pretty sure that these were available to the canadians. so you COULD try any canadian dealer.
i saw the part # on the red site many moons ago.
I have seen the 2 dash pods; the one for the nav and the one for the speedo. I am not sure what FOOT REST means and cant recall ever seeing anything more than those 2 oieces.
before you go running to find these or buy these you may want to ask the canucks and such how those parts are holding up. IIRC I read they leater shrinks and they get all misshaped rather quickly.
ok, the only other pieces I have seen were the door panel uppers and the nav bezel.
maybe milous can help with the part number. i fouund it for the one you have, not this one.
a pic
seems like maybe its just an 09 bezel?
i found this
What's New for 2009
INTERIOR
• New Instrument cluster w/performance display screen
• Surround sound confirmation in EVIC (w/Kicker audio)
• New Leather interior upgrades (upper door bolsters front and rear, I/P cluster brow)
• 9" DVD screen replaces 8" screen
• RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) front window express opening
• Alcoa forged aluminum wheels treated with Dura-Bright® technology
then i found this:
Yes, only for the front two doors; the rears are still vinyl. Also, it looks as if suppliers or applications have changed as the '09s do NOT feature leather-wrapped UPPER door-panel portions; the only cut-and-sew leather is found on the IP bezel and front two door handle pulls.
I have seen a couple very rare early-production '08 Overland models that have the full cut-and-sew door panels and IP bezel, but that must have stopped rather quickly. I have a pic on my PC at home and would love to find a way to buy these but they are likely more expensive to replace than to just find a good upholstery shop to wrap the panels for you.
The leather Instrument cluster bezel was an option on the 09 and 2010 SRT8s. I remember there was a 09 at Naperville CDJ that had that option package. The 06-07 export models came with the leather cluster and Nav bezels, along with the door panels that also included bright bezels around the speakers. I looked into getting the door panels a few years ago and it was over 1200.00. Any good upholstery shop can cover your bezels as well. When I get my Truck and SRT-4 projects finished, the interior my next project, I am going to remove the entire dash and have the entire panel covered, along with the upper bolster and center arm rest panel on the doors. I have been watching and would like to upgrade to the 2010 blackseats as well. I like the fact that my SRT is an 06 so I can get it to pass emissions, but really want the black interior.
As i drive a 2007 WH CRD limited, you're correct, the NAV and instrument cluster have a leather trim on top of it. As for the slide button under the nav unit, its a manual headlight adjuster, if your car is heavy loaded you can adjust the light beam up and down to avoid blinding other traffic, i think its mandatory for european cars( I live in the Netherlands), All the cars I've owned had that feature
