Need some info/removal of cig lighter housing in bezel

Can someone tell me if the (2) 12v cig lighter/acc power plugs are removable from the center bezel on a 07 Jeep??
I have looked at this for about an hour and cant figure out how they come out. I see tabs on the back of it (pic below) but they dont move at all to let you remove them. Has anyone removed these off the bezel before?

Thanks!

The easiest way is with a pair of external snap ring pliers as the tabs must be released from the inside:

HAHA ok so I answered my own question after messing with these things for 2 hours!! There is 2 tiny little plastic clips on the inside of the metal housing you have to push in on while pushing on the metal housing from the backside of the bezel. I takes alot of finagling to get out and a pain in the butt!!!

Thanks Milous! I was getting so frustrated with it lol I was able to use a small tipped flat head and do one side then carefully do they other side. I think this was the hardest part to take off my Jeep so far! lol

They are indeed a pain to remove without the pliers, been a few years since I removed one but now I recall doing something similar to your method and finally got them out.

Re: Need some info/removal of cig lighter housing in bezel

Yea talk about such a fuss over such a small piece but i got them both out. I am painting that front bezel and my door handle bezels that are that silver color to Hemi Orange
Just got off the phone with Chad from Black Ops and he said he may not beable to do the CF hood/front and rear bumper pieces in Hemi Orange but I am going to do them anyway plus do a nice pin strip with HEMI 6.1L written on the side. Its going to look SWEET!

Oh yea my calipers Hemi Ornage also!

Oh since I have your attention where is a good place to get the Hemi Orange color code from? I want the newest Hemi Orange color they have out. I did do some searching but everything that comes back is the old Hemi Orange colors....

Thanks alot for your help!

no way to spread the tabs from the back of the bezel? it NEEDS to be done from the inside of the socket?

Yes you have to push on the little plastic tabs on the inside of the socket to get it to come out. Im telling you its a fight without a reverse snap ring tool. I was able to use a very very small flat head screw driver. Almost as small as you would use on a pair of glasses. You have to put a lot of force on the back side of the socket pushing forward while pushing on the little tabs.
