New Hoods

Some of you may have seen this floating around Facebook. I've been working with Chrystain of Charged Motorworks in California to create some new WK1 products. Also possibly some that are already offered but at a lower price than already offered by another company.
This is from my FB posts.

If you have been interested in or following everything going on with me trying to get new hoods and other products made for the wk1 then read this. From here on out these will be the designs. The pictures provided should not be seen as literal interpretation of the final product. They are to give an idea of what the final product will look like. The work and final products will be coming from Charged Motorworks owned by Chrystain. I will supply examples of some products that he makes for other vehicles. If you haven't heard of them look them up. CMW is pretty well known among the car SRT variants. CMW uses metal reinforced molds to prevent as much error as possible when it comes to improperly formed material. All mounting locations and hood latches will be steel reinforced. Carbon Fiber hoods will be gel coated on both top and bottom but only clear coated on the top. The gel coat can still be waxed and so forth and it is actually recommended. You can pay an additional $150 to have the bottom side clear coated. Fiber Glass hoods will come with primer. As far as production and wait times. If every one were to pay today, 2-4 weeks for fabrication. Customizing the hood getting everything right and so forth. Then another 2-3 weeks to make the mold and prep the mold. Once the mold is complete 1-2 hoods can be made per week. So figure 5-8 weeks before the first hood is delivered give or take. This will also vary depending on the arrival of the OEM hoods being sent to CMW to be used as the plugs for the final products. Shipping will be billed once the hood is completed prior to shipping. shipping costs range from $180-250 in the US and $400-550 internationally.
You can have your hood made three different ways. Full Fiber Glass (FG), full Carbon Fiber (CF) or a Carbon fiber top with a Fiber Glass bottom. If you are interested please send me a private message as well as comment on this post. I will be tracking the group buys and getting info from everyone who wants to participate. I will update the lists as needed. The private message is to help me track everything and the comment is to show others that there is interest building. Group buys will be with a minimum of 10 people. Prices are as follows.

$1000 full Fiber glass
$1300 top CF/ bottom FG
$1500 full carbon fiber
For every five people after 10 is $100 off.
So 11-15 people $100 off
16-20 people $200 off
21-25 people $300 off
And so on.
These prices are group buy prices and will raise for individual sales once the group buy orders are fulfilled.
Chrystain has been generous enough to allow the first 10 people, if you would like, to make 50% deposits via check with the remaining 50% due via credit card when we reach 10 people. The purpose of payment by check is so for what ever reason not all 10 spots are sold, the checks can be returned or voided. This way no parties involved lose money and no one feels ripped off. Everyone after the first 10 will need to pay in full. Everyone will pay shipping when the hood is finished and ready to ship. Shipping insurance is available. If you chose the insurance the product must be carefully checked before accepting receipt of the hood. Other wise the buyer accepts responsibility. If no insurance is purchased the buyer accepts responsibility of damage. The insurance will cover replacement minus shipping costs. Order of delivery will be determined by the order of paid in full. So even if you are first on the list but are 4th to pay in full you will get the fourth hood not the first. More detailed warranty info will be provided on the invoice to the buyer. **images are not representations of actual final products, provided for a concept**

Hellcat hood description
Pending how the hellcat hood coincides with the OEM Jeep hood, the hood will use the OEM hellcat grills for the side vents and center scoop. These parts will be included with all full carbon fiber hoods. 50/50 hoods and full fiberglass hoods Will require the purchase of these parts at cost, not dealer retail.

War fighter hood description
The front edge of the vents will compliment and follow the same body line as the front of the hood with the rear edge following suit to the rear edge of the hood. Mesh will be attached from the rear of the vents. The center depression on the OEM will also be removed and made flush.

Cowl hood description
The cowl hood will have the center section of the OEM hood raised 1.5-1.75 inches in the front with the side line tapering into the hood just as the factory lines do. Centered on the hood will sit the added cowl. It will stand 2 inches tall in the rear closest to the windshield tapering down and towards to front. The front edge of the cowl will be approximately 2 inches narrower than the rear of the hood. The cowl sides will taper complimenting the OEM center taper. There will be no cent scoop like shown in the picture.ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1462758043.377815.jpgImageUploadedByJeepGarage1462758089.466834.jpgImageUploadedByJeepGarage1462758322.112782.jpg
