Re: NTO5s = WOW

Nice! How many miles do you have on them now?

Looking at the same tires but actually hoping for something closer to an R compound, anyone got any ideas?

I have probably, somewhere around 1K on them now. Still diggin them.

Nitto makes something closer to an R compound; NT05-R. They're the same just in a "R" compound..... Suppose to be sick...

Re: NTO5s = WOW

How long are the NT05s supposed to last? I know they are super sticky and super soft but what are we looking at 10k? 5k? less?

Re: NTO5s = WOW

Theres a guy on here that, if I remember correctly, had 15000 and around 100 or so 1/4 mile runs and said they still had good life yet. And he lives in the Florida heat...... Maybe he will chime in.

Re: NTO5s = WOW

I got mine from Discount as well for the same price. They do hook pretty damn good. I actually dead hooked 2X yesterday morning. Then after we put in my new converter, they barely spun! Defninitely a sweet sweet tire for sure. I'm hooked on them. Even my high speed on/off ramps are more fun now. The only thing I don't like about them is heavy rain. They will hyrdoplane so be careful. Still good wet traction though.

Can you compare them to stock tires in the rain? I've hydroplaned pretty badly a few times even just driving over a wet patch of road when it's sunny outside on my stock setup. It rained this morning and I hydroplaned a ton again. It's getting pretty old at this point, so I'm looking for some new tires that are better in the dry and hopefully in the wet.
