Re: Tire Thread

That is what I was considering size wise, but My winter tires would end up costing ~ 600.00 more than the 18" ones, not to mention the 18's have a taller sidewall and are narrower, both good things in the winter. Much less likely to curb rash an 18 than a 20 when sliding on the ice, and much less likely to be sliding in the first place.

Re: Tire Thread

That's true......looks are why I like the 20" replica idea better than the 18s, LOL.

I do agree that in terms of function a skinner 18 will be better.

Re: Tire Thread

I am actually going to lose the SRT front bumper for the winter as well, I am in the far south Suburbs, in Will county, and they don't plow the roads too well around here. It feels like last winter the SRT plowed as many roads as the highwad department did. I'd rather save the bumper and wheels/tires for the 3 weeks of good weather we get around here lol

That makes sense.....I'm up in unincorporated Lake County so I hear you on the unplowed roads (here during the storm can get bad, but they generally get them plowed fairly quickly) .

I'm generally only out with mine in lighter snowfalls.....like the 1-4" range.

And even that isn't too often as it is since I snowplow so I am normally in my plow truck and I have a 4x4 to get to the shop and get my truck out.

Re: Tire Thread

Ordered up a 275/315 combo sooner than planned.

My stockers started to do worse in the rain than they had been and I corner a little harder than they like dry too so it made me pull the trigger on some new tires.

I went with the Vredestein Ultrac SUV Sessanta:

Hoping to have time to get them on the Jeep tomorrow. They have been getting very good reviews from what I've read and heard.

btw, in that size it doesnt have the white letters.

These tires have great reviews. Read up on them. They made consumer reports best tire for everything. Some rated them better in snow then some snow tire but at the same time great on road in all conditions. If you dont want to research it just read the surveys on the tire rack web site.

The Yokohama Parada spec x is a great tire too and its a M+S rated tire.

OR You guys could use these as all season tires or winter tires in a 275/45/20

Re: Tire Thread

weve had an unusually snowy winter here is sothcentral KY and my Nitto 420s have been perfect. Much more grip in ice/snow than the Goodyears.

Re: Tire Thread

I really wish they would make 17 or 18" SRT8 REPS. I would be on that like white on rice.

Re: Tire Thread

What are the stock tire sizes for 08 SRT rims? What can you go up to without rubbing?
Looking for an all season preferably. And are the runflats really that bad?
