Has anyone had their 06-08 wheels repaired and re-clear-coated? Do they look like factory and or is it worth doing? I was quoted a price of $120/ wheel for them to dismount my tire, repair the curb rash, and clear coat the wheel. They said it would shine better than new but I dont know if I believe that. I dont want to ruin a $1000+ wheel!!!
At $120 to do what they're saying seems like a pretty good price to me. Thats a decent amount of work start to finish and then pending how much rash you have then grinding that back and re-clearing. All in all, Id say go for it but its all pending your "situation" New wheels are always a sweet visual enhancement Just my .02
be careful...some shops will just sand down the rough areas and reclear. If they damge is bad....they may need to add more aluminum to build the wheel up, then sand, polish and clear.
I have been looking for a place also, my rims have curb rash on them too.
I found a place in Indiana its web site is www.transwheel.com.
They quoted me about $300.00 per wheel plus shipping both ways.
Your price sonds pretty good.
around $100 per wheel is what it costs around here just to fixed painted wheels. to repair curb rash by removing the wheel that price seems too good to be true. do they warranty their work?
I really need to talk to a person that understands and can explain there
process of fixing the wheels. Then i should be able to ask all the right
questions..............
