True, the EU has specific guidelines for turn signals .. also includes the side repeats. You could not register a car over in Europe with tail lights but I never heard of anybody getting any problems for having them after the registration.

Re: Why? Euro SRT wheels

Most high-end cars over here have run-flats fitted from the factory now and they are available everywhere - just pricy.

The director at my work has a BMW 5 series with the M5 alloys (bought from the dealer) and it has 305 profile tires on the back which is a lot wider than the SRT rims so it must be some country where it is sold that has a specific law on wheels/tyre sizes?

maybe. but they save money. thats was my point.

why PAY for 2 different lights to be designed, built, tested, deployed when the euro model meets US specs.

go look at successsful PROFITABLE car companies today: they limit the 'assortment' if you will. my girl just bought an acura RDX. they have four option pkgs. thats it. and some trim only has some colors. in other words, the choices are limited, bad for the consumer, but they have a limited number of configurations, better cost controls, etc.

that is very true its like that with a lot of car companies ... but for some odd reason american cars come with so many different options and trims and not every single gc will have the same options on the inside ...

and we wonder why they went bankrupt lol ?

going back to point ... the engine sizes in a lot of cars in europe are smaller for example the audi a6 here comes standard with a 3.2L engine thats base model however in europe and turkey its a 2L engine and therefore a lot of the power is cut ... its like that with a lot of cars the jetta here is 1.8 or 2.0 or 2.6 vr6 talking about 03-04 models ... in europe its the bora and the engine size is 1.6 ???

naturally tires will be smaller IMO

Re: Why? Euro SRT wheels

Look at other Chrysler models. The caravan, new liberty and the older 300 all had the tail lights whose style resembles the WK export tails. I think they did it just to be different. To me they should have just put the WH ones on all of them and called it done. BUT, then they went and changed the WK tails to 1 bulb vs 2 which the design change would not work with the Export tails. If they never changed the tails to the new style they could have cut costs even more since there are 3 styles now.
