Future Suspension Upgrades: This is what I am planning to do for a lift and would love everyone's input.
I came across a Rocky Road Outfitters 2.25 lift w/ Rear Shock for $75 Couldn't pass that up. I also got a pair of Rock Rails for $80 and it was all brand NEW! I don't plan on using the shocks because of all the bad reviews I have read, but I still thing it was a great deal.
In Addition to that I want to use the following:
Bilstein
Front Struts: F4-BE5-D721-HO
Rear Shocks: F4-BE5-D722-HO
Springs
Old Man Emu Springs 2"
Front 2991
Rear 2993
Spider Trax 1.5 Wheel Spacers
Hopefully this will give me about a 4" lift, Is all this compatible and safe? Is there anything else that I should be upgrading while doing all this?
Hey Svenska Jeep Guy, I couldn't agree with you more. It's a great color I wanted to go with something different then my black Durango was and my White F250. I was really impressed when I saw it at the dealer. Had to get it!
LucasJ Love the Black WK and the hidden lights will definitely be doing that upgrade once I get the suspension worked out. Thanks for the heads up about the BB and the springs. Is there a lift that I can use with the OME springs and Blistein shocks or should I do just one or the other?
In general stacking is a bad idea because it throws of the factory angles and puts added wear on things like your rack, tie rod ends etc...
IMO you should either stick with a RRO and Billstiens or dump the RRO and get the OME Springs and keep the Billsteins. If you want more then 4 inches of lift, you need to look into the SL (if you can get it), the zone lift or the JBA.
At the moment it usually just driving on the beach to do some fishing. However, I am looking to do some trail riding pretty soon and would love something that is 100%. I would rather do something right the first way then have it brake and do it over again. (learning this after doing it the wrong way for a while ha ha) Even when I do some off roading it would most like be trails nothing too crazy. I am planning on driving across country in a year or two and hitting some trails and doing some camping.
Thanks for the input! Would the Billsteins be the same model number as I had original stated or would they be different?
How do you guys feel about the Spidertrax wheel spacers? Anybody using them?
Update: I just ordered OLD MAN EMU Shocks and Springs!!! Hopefully I will get them by friday so I can get them in this weekend. Also I got a used set of Spider Trax Wheels spacers thanks to Jeep Garage's classifieds. I hope they are good to use no one really gave me an answer on how they liked there Spidertrax. I will update with some pics as soon as I can!!! Any tips before hand would be greatly appreciated! Wish me luck
Spidertrax are the best and the only wheel spacer I would ever use. Had them on for a couple of year with no problems. Make sure you use loctite when you put them on and after about 50 miles just double check that they are on tight and again every time you rotate your tires.
Replaced Headlights and Fog lights with Philips Bulbs (Don't remember if it was Extreme Vision or CrystalVision) I will double check. Either way I liked the change over the stock. Its a little hard to tell but if you enlarge the first one you can see the difference.
Waiting on my Superchips Programmer and new Jet Thermostat!!! Should be here today!!!
Also Have new tires that I got on Monday, haven't taken pics yet will take some this weekend. I was very undecided on which tires to get. Went to my local tire shop wanting to get the Goodyear Duratrac's but the guy sold me on the Wrangler Silent Armor's and I am loving them
