Re: 2014 SRT aka "Jack"

Couple cheap aesthetic-mods done...the sun visors have those horrible stickers on them that do not come off. They measure 2" X 9" so I decided to add come CF Vinyl wrap to cover them up (saw a member on here cover them with Mopar stickers so I figured I could do the CF). Really easy...took 3 minutes!

Next I decided to do the rear aluminum cargo covers...I have a dog and wanted to protect them as much as possible. Cut a template (white card stock paper in center of picture) and made the template SLIGHTLY larger than the piece so I could trim as needed. Clean the surface with alcohol and apply...simple as that! Just invert your template on the vinyl when doing the other side

Lastly I got a rubber and stitched leather key fob cover/case for my keys...both off Amazon and for the price are a fine value to protect your fob

Re: 2014 SRT aka "Jack"

Saw another member do this and thought I would share...added a dimpled/stainless step pad to the parking brake to match the gas/brake pedals. Part is off of an older model E-Class benz; was $20 shipped. Install took all of 2 minutes; lineup the stock one with the new part and trim accordingly. Fits perfectly and did not require any heat or glue to secure. Make sure to cut out a "tab" to match the stock...

Installed...fits like a glove and does not have any play

Here is the back of the stock and the clippings from the new part...not a lot of trimming needed

ALSO got my new re-finished Goliath's!!! Pumped...sick of the flaking Spider Monkeys and cleaning them

Nice looking Jeep. Love the look of the front end of the SRT and the white/black combo you choose.

Can you post a link to the vinyl wrap you used and the leather key cover? Never thought to cover the mirror stickers with CF but it's a much cleaner look and would go great with my black headliner.

Thanks.

Re: 2014 SRT aka "Jack"

Thank you sir!! Very happy so far...

The CF wrap has been great!! For the price and the quantity you really can't beat it. So far it's held up a month and will continue to update. Here's the link:

Re: 2014 SRT aka "Jack"

Thanks for the link. One other question, did you have to heat the vinyl to make it stick to the back of the mirrors? I've never used it before so I don't know how naturally adhesive it is, I've only seen videos of guys doing full car wraps with heat guns.

Re: 2014 SRT aka "Jack"

I actually just let it sit in the sun for 20 minutes then applied...a heat gun or hair dryer may help, but since this is indise and doesn't have to deal with any of the "elements" I do not think it is necessary. Plus like I said you get so much for so little $$ you can do all kinds of trial and errors! Lmk how it goes

Ordered it last night, should be here some time tomorrow (got to love Amazon!). Will let you know how it goes. Thanks again for the tips.

Re: 2014 SRT aka "Jack"

Hardwired my Passport Redline into my rear view mirror wiring harness...was amazed how easy the wiring install was, but man the mirror is a PITA to get on and off. Very happy with the results for a $12.99 cord (amazon.com, easy to find via search) and 30 minute install...

Re: 2014 SRT aka "Jack"

Finally got a chance to put up the vinyl. Looks good but I might end up redoing it. I don't think I got the two mirrors exactly aligned so it's probably going to drive me crazy. Lol. Like you said though, you get a ton for your money so plenty of room for trial and error.

Your radar install looks good! Nice and clean.

Yeah that's the best part about the stuff...you can just keep trying different sizes. I have done a couple more places I will put some pics up later. Thanks on the radar...I am happy to have no cords hanging it was driving me nuts!

Re: 2014 SRT aka "Jack"

WELL...it's D-Day! I just dropped Jack off to get the new Goliaths and Toyo's installed. Put the thermoquiet brake pads on over the weekend and am having the rotors replaced under the 7/11/15 recall tomorrow...will post up some pics when I get him back. SUPER nervous...hope the wheel/tire combo look good.

Re: 2014 SRT aka "Jack"

Anticipation is over...I am satisfied so far just not used to the look yet. I do like the Spiders I was just sick of cleaning them and the stupid black chrome pitting. Now with these new brake pads and easier access to clean the wheels/brakes I think I will love it! The color has impressed me: can look black, grey, charcoal metallic and almost black chrome depending on the lighting (albeit less shinny)

Added: thermoquiets, Toyo Proxes ST II's and custon painted dark grey/charcoal metallic Goliaths...gorilla lugs (black) and match painted center caps. Only driven 15 miles but pleased so far. Feel is much lighter in the steering wheel (these are 5 lbs lighter per tire than the P Run flats iirc). Much softer with the little imperfections in the road that I used to feel. Front rotors are being replaced tomorrow under the 7/11/15 recall...so this is perfext timing! I must say that I love the tread pattern on these Toyos...and with a 50k mile warranty I think they will work out just fine. Got the 3yr/36k alignment and rotation from Big Brand as well (closest dealer is 35 miles)
