2014 SRT...replaced my 2008 WK Jill (RIP!). Very happy with the vehicle...bought it used with 4k miles and it has a little over 8k on it now. Love it! Thing is an absolute beast

Added BT Catch Can, full Front/Rear/Cargo matts, footwell and upper consile LEDs, de-badged. Passport Escort Redline radar; bought the 10 foot straight cigarette power and wjll eventually hard wire it. Just had the windows tinted (20 over the existing stock tint; rear 5 windows) and 5 on the rear lower reflectors. Also had them add the 3M clear tint to the headlights. Next up is exhaust and some other minor exterior stuff...but I am stoked! :D

Here are some pics:

I think he's a "fast" one too:

Tint, reflectors and headlight:

The Lineup!!!

Sometimes you just gotta drop the top

Front end/side shot...Jeep did a great job on the front of the WK2...it has really grown on me...still love the cut lines of the WK1 but

Bye bye mufflers...best $100 I have spent in a long time! Cheap way to have this toned-down SRT sound like it actually has over 400hp!!!! It sounds LOUD, comparatively, especially when fired up cold (will post videos soon...problems loading)

Got a couple mods done today... :D

aFe Magnum Pro dry S intake, here is what is in the box:

Here is the breakdown of the install:

All stock intake parts removed

Parts you take out

Intake installed

NOTE: I removed the plastic flap in front of the intake above the driver headlight(to the right of the yellow washer fluid cap in the above picture; two plastic non-rivets)...this is used for 5.7L WK2 stock intake for an air inlet and figured it couldn't hurt to have a little more air flow from other than the lower stock intake tubing which this intake quasi-utilizes

Rear Jeep emblem changed to PX8 black...

Before

Emblem removed...2-sided tape holds it on and two pins align...was easy to get off with some heat and then goo-gone to remove the left over adhesive. I started under the "p" on the Jeep to get underneath it to lift it and then pull it off...I put think tape under the bottom of the "p" on the paint so I didn't scratch it when using a flathead to lift it up. Once you have it started use your hand(s) or some gentle pry tool

After!!! I think it looks a lot better...great $60 mod IMO

Another cheap and easy mod...stainless braided hoses for the catch can...go well with the satin billet theme I am going for

Not really a mod...but HIGHLY recommended...CoverCraft sunshade...great fitment and quality. Very happy with this product ($45 on Amazon)

B-rad!
Congrats man...of course...its white..:D

Jill is still there?

#12 ·
Of course! What else would you expect haha! No I sold Jill :)mad:) it didn't make any sense to have two white SUV's...gone but never forgotten! Plus I needed another project

Hope you are doing well bro...you ride looks $$$$...reminds me of the 918 Porsche with the black/green

Couple cheap aesthetic-mods done...the sun visors have those horrible stickers on them that do not come off. They measure 2" X 9" so I decided to add come CF Vinyl wrap to cover them up (saw a member on here cover them with Mopar stickers so I figured I could do the CF). Really easy...took 3 minutes!

Next I decided to do the rear aluminum cargo covers...I have a dog and wanted to protect them as much as possible. Cut a template (white card stock paper in center of picture) and made the template SLIGHTLY larger than the piece so I could trim as needed. Clean the surface with alcohol and apply...simple as that! Just invert your template on the vinyl when doing the other side

Lastly I got a rubber and stitched leather key fob cover/case for my keys...both off Amazon and for the price are a fine value to protect your fob

Saw another member do this and thought I would share...added a dimpled/stainless step pad to the parking brake to match the gas/brake pedals. Part is off of an older model E-Class benz; was $20 shipped. Install took all of 2 minutes; lineup the stock one with the new part and trim accordingly. Fits perfectly and did not require any heat or glue to secure. Make sure to cut out a "tab" to match the stock...

Installed...fits like a glove and does not have any play

Here is the back of the stock and the clippings from the new part...not a lot of trimming needed

ALSO got my new re-finished Goliath's!!! Pumped...sick of the flaking Spider Monkeys and cleaning them

Nice looking Jeep. Love the look of the front end of the SRT and the white/black combo you choose.

Can you post a link to the vinyl wrap you used and the leather key cover? Never thought to cover the mirror stickers with CF but it's a much cleaner look and would go great with my black headliner.

Thanks.

#17 ·
Thanks for the link. One other question, did you have to heat the vinyl to make it stick to the back of the mirrors? I've never used it before so I don't know how naturally adhesive it is, I've only seen videos of guys doing full car wraps with heat guns.

#18 ·
I actually just let it sit in the sun for 20 minutes then applied...a heat gun or hair dryer may help, but since this is indise and doesn't have to deal with any of the "elements" I do not think it is necessary. Plus like I said you get so much for so little $$ you can do all kinds of trial and errors! Lmk how it goes

Hardwired my Passport Redline into my rear view mirror wiring harness...was amazed how easy the wiring install was, but man the mirror is a PITA to get on and off. Very happy with the results for a $12.99 cord (amazon.com, easy to find via search) and 30 minute install...

Finally got a chance to put up the vinyl. Looks good but I might end up redoing it. I don't think I got the two mirrors exactly aligned so it's probably going to drive me crazy. Lol. Like you said though, you get a ton for your money so plenty of room for trial and error.

Your radar install looks good! Nice and clean.

#22 ·
Yeah that's the best part about the stuff...you can just keep trying different sizes. I have done a couple more places I will put some pics up later. Thanks on the radar...I am happy to have no cords hanging it was driving me nuts!

WELL...it's D-Day! I just dropped Jack off to get the new Goliaths and Toyo's installed. Put the thermoquiet brake pads on over the weekend and am having the rotors replaced under the 7/11/15 recall tomorrow...will post up some pics when I get him back. SUPER nervous...hope the wheel/tire combo look good.

Anticipation is over...I am satisfied so far just not used to the look yet. I do like the Spiders I was just sick of cleaning them and the stupid black chrome pitting. Now with these new brake pads and easier access to clean the wheels/brakes I think I will love it! The color has impressed me: can look black, grey, charcoal metallic and almost black chrome depending on the lighting (albeit less shinny)

Added: thermoquiets, Toyo Proxes ST II's and custon painted dark grey/charcoal metallic Goliaths...gorilla lugs (black) and match painted center caps. Only driven 15 miles but pleased so far. Feel is much lighter in the steering wheel (these are 5 lbs lighter per tire than the P Run flats iirc). Much softer with the little imperfections in the road that I used to feel. Front rotors are being replaced tomorrow under the 7/11/15 recall...so this is perfext timing! I must say that I love the tread pattern on these Toyos...and with a 50k mile warranty I think they will work out just fine. Got the 3yr/36k alignment and rotation from Big Brand as well (closest dealer is 35 miles)

Rotors replaced under warranty...added a couple randomly placed slots and much better finish on the porion that meets the wheel. 80 miles in hot (95) and cool-ish (65) weather with NO squeaking! Very happy so far...will update if anything changes

Couple more mods I had not added:

- Full LED interior, reverse and fogs
- Strut Brace
- Blacked-out upper and lower grille rings
- Corsa full cat-back exhaust in black

Triton v3 rear tail lights...these things are BRIGHT! BUT are not cheap and take some creative installation, but simple stuff. DO NOT forget to get the v6 ohm resistor ;) TechFlexd the entire wiring...2x taped the resistors from under the bumper (no bumper removal)...a lot of wiring but love the output!

08Hemi,
It's looking good but a few things to change . . .

1. Get that radar detector off the suction cups & into a Blendmount that attaches to the back of your mirror. Soooooo much better, slicker and stealthier!

2. Get your Liftmaster garage door opener programmed into the vehicle. That looks soooo bad! You have three buttons . . . use one!!

3. The all white look with no badging? Can you say boooooring . . .

Thanks for the feedback...actually installed a blendmount in my buddies 2016 High Altitude and I prefer the Max 360 (Passport Redline is in the pic, much smaller) up and to the left of the mirror. I do not like it below the mirror...but my friend, as it appears you do as well, loves the BM placement

#2? ;)

Looking super clean!! Thinking about pulling the trigger on the Corsa for mine...but $1600 ouch....the Corsa for my Yukon was like half the price....oh well make money spend money right!?

I bought mine "used" from a longtime JG forum member and friend...he put it on his 15' SRT and did not like it because it was too quiet HAHA! So he went with the Borla ATAK.

I am so happy with the Corsa...I did not want a loud "all-the-time" exhaust but the OEM leaves a lot of sound to be desired. I must say the fit/finish on the Corsa is top-notch and have had zero issues with it.

Gotta pay to play, and you can't take it with you...so you might as well enjoy! Let me know what you end up going with

Had a chance to "play" last night with cold (for Santa Barbara haha) weather...WOW does the beast love cold air!! Consistently throwing down 4.1's...Sport mode only, no track/launch. VERY impressed that I can replicate the sub 4.2 0-60!!! Will wait for it to get into the 40's and will try to match/beat my 3.9 ;)

I have a 15 SRT that will turn in from lease when I get the Hellcat 18 sometime in September. I love white with black trim. Have you thought about putting CF on your mirror caps or even painting them black? I think I want to do that and paint the top and rear door spoiler gloss black. Sick Jeep! Enjoyed watching your progress.

#37 ·
Thanks for the kind words! I have not thought about making the mirrors black as much as I have the chrome window trim...that is the last chrome on the beast and it needs to go! I just have not had the time to get it wrapped, and replacing the trim is too expensive for the outcome IMO.

Now IF I do the window trim, I think you are onto something as the mirrors in black would "finish" off the blacked-out sides of the SRT.

What color Hellcat are you going to get? White? Stripes?? Chally or Charger??
