Re: A Teen at Work!

While digging around in some older photos, I found photos that I took while doing the rear pinch weld mod, a pretty necessary mod while running a BB, 2" wheel spacers, and 285/70/17s...

I then made cuts similar to the front pinch weld and later flattened the cuts with a hammer.

I have no after pictures, but doing this is essential to keeping your rubber in one piece. Otherwise, while flexing the Jeep will cut the tires.

I also found the first ever picture that I took of my Jeep in the place and time that I bought it! Times have changed since...

Come Spring 2015, I will be permanently getting rid of those scratches with a certain Monstaliner!

Yep! I plan on spraying it on for a better finish and it will be completely UV resistant. This is the product:
Monstaliner do-it-yourself roll-on truck bed liner outperforms Herculiner Bed Liner, Duplicolor and Rustoleum Road Warrior

Re: A Teen at Work!

I have been working on a huge overhaul the past few weeks and one of my priorities was rust prevention. I hate rust and using Rustoleum's rubber undercoating a year ago, it left a lot to be desired. So, I turned to Magnet Paint's Chassis Saver to do the work. I would talk more about the benefits, but you can find much more on it here: Paint Over Rust to Stop Rust Permanently With Chassis Saver Truck & Auto Underbody Coating I then topcoated the Chassis Saver with Rustoleums Rollbar and Chassis paint: https://www.rustoleum.com/product-ca...r-and-chassis/. I spent six days, two hours per day, prepping the underbody. That included cleaning, wire brushing with a drill, cleaning, sanding, masking, and cleaning again... Now for the good part! :2thumbsup:

Re: A Teen at Work!

I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday!

I recently picked up some AVS window ventshades and installed them not too long ago. I don't think they look too bad, they are the in channel version and don't add much to the window contours. But, I've always wanted these for their purpose and not their looks!

Re: A Teen at Work!

Hey all!

It has been quite some time since my last post, but it can all be blamed on the weather. I hibernate most of the winter... Aside from that, a few things have been done to the WK. For starters, I will start off by saying I will no longer buy aftermarket replacement parts. Here is why:

I recently was driving my Jeep fine one winter day. The next morning upon startup, the Jeep would not shift into any gear. I was getting a CEL with the code P0944: Loss of hydraulic pump prime. If you go back in this thread, I recently replaced my trans filters this past summer with Crown Automotive filters. The problem was the Jeep had to redesign the filters due to them often cracking internally. Crown Automotive must not have been aware of this updated design. Two Mopar filters, a gasket, and nine quarts of Royal Purple ATF later, I had the Jeep running perfectly again.

Not only that, but last winter I had to replace my engine oil pressure sensor which I replaced with a Crown Automotive unit. With the temperatures low, the Crown unit cracked under the higher crankcase pressures. Thus replaced with a Mopar unit.

I will end this rant there and wish all a great day! :cheers2:
