Another 2015 White SRT Hits The Road

I know there are already a lot of White SRTs out there, but where I live, an SRT sighting is extremely rare in ANY color, so we should be just fine.

Pictures to Follow after my thoughts on the purchase, the vehicle itself and a couple of complaints / concerns...

Sorry for such a long post, maybe it will help other prospective buyers.

And I welcome feedback (especially on my “complaints” below. )

Just traded in our 2012 and wow, have to say, there are huge differences from the 2012 to the 2015. Some of it I expected, a lot of it I didn't. The biggest surprise is how quiet it is, amazing. Also wasn't expecting the HID fog bulbs nor the huge improvements in the headlights. I knew the 8 speed trans, U-Connect, Gauge cluster and rear video systems were improvements but they too surprised me in how much of an upgrade they truly were...

I ordered it new through "Fields" in Sanford Florida. I live in North Alabama but everyone near here wanted to sell it at sticker only. I did try the "group buy" dealers in TX & D.C. but never could get a comfortable price on my trade in. Jeff Smith came in only 1/2% higher on the sale price but THOUSANDS more on the trade in. It was by far the absolute best dealer experience EVER. Smitty @ Fields was AWESOME to deal with, through e-mail, phone and in person. No haggle, very honest and straight shooting.

I do have 3 complaints...

#1. 1100 miles in and am getting a "P0325 - Knock Sensor Circuit Malfunction - Bank 1". Cleared the code and tried a new tank of gas just in case, no luck, came right back. Took it to the local dealer here, they said it had 27 pages of updates they had to do (27 pages? on a car that came off the assembly line less than 3 weeks ago?). But further they did NO testing, they just cleared the code, updated it and sent the wife driving. She told them I had already tried clearing the code and they told her that wasn't possible, only a dealer could clear that code... Of course the error came back an hour later. Back to the dealer tomorrow.

#2. The finish on the Black Chrome Spider Monkey wheels is horrible. Not only is it easily scratched but the small split pockets aren't even fully finished. You can look into the pocket and still see the white base coat of the wheel!

#3. The Eco Button will not stay on... Exact opposite of what most complain about here. I can turn it on but once the engine is cycled off, Eco turns back off. Not a huge deal for me, I prefer it off, but the wife daily drives it so not having to remember to turn it back on is big for her.

Re: Another 2015 White SRT Hits The Road

The mods began quickly... Stopped in a random parking lot and installed the Catch Can with only 11 miles on the odometer....

Since then I have also managed to get the reflective white "SRT" tow cover inlay installed, most badges removed, windows tinted & the upper grill rings swapped to black!

Been a busy 8 days....

And without further delay…. My first few shots...

One More... Got those ugly bright yellow stickers on the visors covered up...

Looks MUCH better though even this is temporary...

Had them covered in Leather by "Dallas Custom Steering Wheel" in our 2012 and loved it so these will be off for the same treatment in a few months...

Re: Another 2015 White SRT Hits The Road

Its the stock PCV valve system. Not quite sure why the engineers allow it to pass so much oil but I have been driving these engines since 2005 with well over 400,000 miles clocked across 3 of em (5.7 / 6.1 / 6.4) and they all have passed far too much oil into the intake system for my liking...

On the previous one (2012 JGC SRT) the catch can would "catch" about 6 - 8 oz of oil between each oil change that without the can would have made it into the intake manifold...

Many, including Diablosport, have shown significant performance decrease over time as the oil sludges up in there.

Here is a good write up in more detail: Oil Catch Cans | Everything you need to know and more!

***That website appears to also be a retailer selling catch cans, never used that brand, know nothing about it, only linked to it because of the info . I have used Billet Technology catch cans on all of mine and been very happy.

I agree with your 2nd & 3rd complaint.
Wheels were done poorly.
Agree with Eco button issue.
So far no codes or engine lights on.
1300 miles to date.

Re: Another 2015 White SRT Hits The Road

Where did you source the Mopar sticker to cover the warning label on the visor?

Turned out it was just a loose connector. Kind of thought that was what it would be, I found 4 different areas under the hood where they didn't tighten a wire tie or push in the plastic tree rivet / plug.... Par for the course I guess. All good now for 2000 miles though.

Streamline Design...

Cover up your ugly airbag warning stickers

They dont list the Jeep but turns out the size is exactly the same as the wide one for the Chevy Avalanche... Just send them whatever you want to go on it and they will make it happen.

I actually had two designs made up when I had my 2012 JGC...

I used the 392 on the 2012....

Still had the Mopar ones laying around so went ahead and used them here...
