A lot of kudos to TJXJWJ, his WJ is the nicest I've ever seen. So a lot of the work going into mine is from him!

First off, bought it from the original owner, older guy. Was completely factory. Now has 280,000km. It's a Limited, 4.7 H.O. Fully loaded.
Did all the necessary repair work, new brakes etc. Cut the muffler out for now, so it's just straight pipe all the way back. Tinted taillights. Installed a full LED interior light kit 5000k.

Day I bought it home..

Nice work! Does the shifter handle come off with just brute force like in my old XJ, or is there a fastener/trick to it?

#5 ·
Shifter comes off with a whole lot of brute force. As well as you will probably rip the wires for the o/d switch out with it. I opened my sunroof and sat on the console to get a good grip. All the forums I checked said that it doesn't come off! I proved them wrong lol!

Installed my AFE Stage 2 cold air intake! Had to modify the shield quite a bit to make it fit but it's in there!

I know that I am late on this, but I too had to modify mine.. damn thing ate into my padding on the hood and made the hood bind up on the latch when I shut it since it was pressed so tight.... always make sure that it closes well before just slamming it and walking away... haha

I so want to ditch that big @ss baseball sized knob for a nice B&M or Hurst T handle with a button. The horror stories have always stopped me along with the lockout linkage issue. I don't care about the brake lockout I just don't want to hit reverse while banging gears.

#10 ·
I had some trial and error with the height adjustment on mine for the same issue. Sometimes the interlock wouldn't work. Other times I couldn't get my key out. If you play around with the height and then just lock it in and figure out a nice way to cover up the shaft you won't have any issues.

Oh and if you find a nice t-handle hurst or b&m Let me know where!!

#12 ·
I need to find time for a BM...hahhaha

#16 ·
What do you mean?

BM=Bowel movement

aka
dropping anchor
dropping a deuce
downloading
etc, etc, etc

Good grief here we go again! That decal better not be on that fan shroud. I don't think I'll be able to cope if another one of you starts a fan shroud shrine. It's like tattoos dude once you start..................

Likewise!! Wow that's ridiculous who would steal it?! I get chive ons all over the place downtown here.

#30 ·
I know right! I was irritated as hell. I don't get that many as I don't have a normal KCCO shirt but I do get them occasionally. We're having a huge all day meet next weekend down here.
