Is your Jeep purple heart worthy? Do you have a story or pics that you reluctantly wish to reminisce on? Tell your story/post your pics up past and present in this thread and we can recuperate together.

Two months after I bought my Jeep, I was at lunch and parked in a lot right along a frontage road. On the highway, an elderly citizen lost control of his SUV, hit a rut in the right lane and proceeded lose control, careen through the chain link fence across the frontage road and right into my Jeep parked in the lot. I've never told the story before but thought I would share.. He got the bumper, headlight and grille and a future trip to the dealer revealed a cracked water pump. My Jeep was knocked back into the parking lane and was about three inches from clipping a BMW behind it... No pics, sorry it was way before I joined any of the forums so I never considered documenting it at the time.

Then... earlier this year I was changing lanes and clipped a Honda that I did not see.. minimal damage and I was able to buff it out. It was actually the first time I've ever hit another car.. nothing too exciting but I have pics of this encounter.

it was 6 am on a foggy sat morning! we were going kayaking on the del river and we had 4-5 kayaks and i was too lazy to put 3 on my roof so i said lets just throw them in my trailer and then ill tow them to the river.

so we get everything onto the trailer and then im backing out of the winding driveway and the trailer hits a log that acts like the boundary for the trailer. so i give the truck some gas and next thing you know BOOM i was like uh oh what was that. i jack-knifed my trailer and the sharp edge went straight into my rear quarter panel:( the entire panel has to be straightened out and repainted.

Before I waxed out the scuff marks...

After

Quotes to fix were $500, and $1200. I got a new in box fender for $100. Just have to get it painted and put on......

I let my daughter borrow the Jeep just to run to the store. As she turned into a parking spot between 2 cars, the guy opened his door and she hit it right on the edge of the door. It was like a knife edge that cut into the hood, bumper and headlight. This was over a year ago. She hasn't driven it since even though it wasn't really her fault.

Joe,
I am currently building my 24x48 garage and I had already built a car port to store my trailer in. I wanted to attach the car port to the garage and I was up on a 6 ft ladder trying to remove the 2x10 that was the original header. As I was retreating down the ladder,it tipped and I fell straight to the ground. I landed hard on the ladder and smacked my head against a fresh 4x4. It was so sharp,it slit it open 1/2 inch wide and 4 1/2 long.Took from 7 pm till 1:30 till I got out of the hospital. The good news,I canceled my vacation time and got the week off paid using sick leave. Fortunately,I got all the work I needed done until 2 weeks when the trusses are put up and roof on.Actually it really didn't give me much pain till he numbed the area to put the stitches in..

Honestly, if you seen it now after 10 days, you'd be impressed at how it healed. You have to be real close to see it,but I am not really into guys being that close to my face,so you'll have to take my word on it...lol Thanks for the well wishes.

I dont have any vehicular or bodily scars worth talking about.

But recently my dad was on a job site getting some things out of his truck. Hes got a chevy 2500 HD with 8ft bed cap and a roll out bed slide so you can get at all your equipment with out crawling through the bed.

Well he did not realize that the truck was ever so slightly heading down hill (nose down) and when he went to close the bed slide being right handed he grabbed it with his right hand (the handle is on the left side off set for some reason) and his middle finger was under the lip and essentially got run over by the steel roller bearing and jammeb between that and the bed slide with a few hundred pounds on it giving it momentum.

My mother came home and told me what had happened and that he refused the emergency room, by the time he got up the stairs i had my bottle of whisky and a shot glass full waiting for him.

Needless to say after 2 shots of whisky and a beer, he was not drunk but deff didnt feel the pain any more. LOL.

The finger is fine now, it just got badly bruised and the finger nail was cracked in half and has already grown out. I am amzed he didnt break the finger.
