Well after months of debating, I decided that I needed something louder than the Borla T that I was running:
I wanted something with a nice low, throaty, deep sound/rumble to it that you could hear under even light throttle.
My 3 final choices were B&B, Stainless Works and Borla S. The only one I could hear in person was the Borla S. Met up with fellow member SRT8 4 J to go for a ride. Knew instantly that it was what I wanted.
I may have liked the B&B and SW as well.....but not being able to hear them in person was the deal breaker on them.
So, I ordered up the Borla S from Maryland Speed. Ordered online and within 5 minutes got an email from them stating my order would be going out via UPS that day. Within an hour I got an email from UPS that a package was shipped coming to me. Great to deal with, definitely would recommend them.
Of course I can't leave anything alone, so decided to have the tips painted in Charcoal Metallic to match my wheels. I had the exhaust shipped to my buddy's body shop so he opened up the box and started working on the tips right away.
Here's a pic from his BlackBerry of them primed:
And here they are painted and ready for install:
System installed:
Now originally I wanted to run the tips sticking out a little like this:
But, due to the shape of one of the hangers that is where the two pieces come together over the axle, it's not possible.....unless you mod the hanger to give it more clearance.
So, I tapped the exhaust in some more and then cleaned it up earlier and snapped some pics.
And since I had it all cleaned up snapped a pic of the entire Jeep:
I love the look and the sound of the exhaust. However, I can see why some people wouldn't like it. Me, I've found myself driving with the radio volume down and the windows down just to hear it
I have been able to chirp the tires on a straight launch now too.....never happened before with the Borla T on there
