It can be done easily in Photoshop. If you want some help with that let me know.

Edit...

The original size of your first pic is 3214 x 2410 pixels @ 72 dpi.

I can leave it at that size and bump up the dpi... or I can take it down to a more normal size of 1280 x 1024 pixels @ 250 dpi and remain pretty much at the same file size as your original. That is more than enough for high resolution.

It probably would help to know what the ideal pixel size of the calendar images should be to nail it down further.

greenwayer... do you know what size you want to work with on your calendar?

I appreciate your help, but I have photoshop too so I can do any manipulations myself.

And you can't make a file that was originally taken at 72dpi and make it higher without reducing quality. That's like converting an mp3 to a lossless or flac file. You can't do it backwards.

I agree that it would help to know some specs of the calendar so we know what to submit.

Sure you can. I do it all the time. But no problem if you don't believe that.

Do you ever print these images you do it to all the time and compare the quality? Considering this calendar is going to be printed, it matters.

The loss in quality may not be as noticeable on screen as much, but trust me, unless you're using a lossless file like a .TIFF, you cannot manipulate the size without some quality loss. Taking fewer pixels and blowing them up into an image with more pixels and saving it as a lossy file again, equals lower quality.

Your not actually improving the quality of the photograph. Sure you can increase it to whatever resolution you want but your original photo is still a low quality photo. What your essentially doing is taking a pixel and breaking it into four smaller pixels. There's a lot more to image quality than file resolution.

And you both use Photoshop? LOL... okaaaaay, we'll just leave it at that. It's not worth arguing over.
