Clarks Build Thread

Made the story shorter: 2006 Hemi In the 2nd best color. Blue! It was my dads old company car. He just got a new WK2 and had the chance to buy this before it went to auction for a good price so I told him I wanted to buy it. Well, He suprised me for my 24th bday. I think he is trying to bribe me into selling the cbr600... must....resist... My lil 4 banger chevy colorado 4 door is up on egay now. Gotta find a way to pay for all the stuff I want to add! I am kidding, I have to sell that to pay back what I owe my family if that's even possible...

My Goals are to address Performance and Drive ability First. I would like It to be comfortable to drive for long periods of time. Better gas mileage would be nice since I am going from having almost 30 down to 20 if i keep it under 2k rpms (yea right, i like to hear it roar!) so 15 maybe haha. Once I am satisfied with that and have some money saved up, it will be time to address the lift. I always wanted to toss some 35's under it while still being capable of flex so I am following a few builds closely to see how they end up liking their setups. 35's,awd, and close to 400hp hemi for the win!!

Safe in Garage the night it got here from tx.

The Current OD reading! Aging like fine wine.

Current Condition (soon to change)

Mods:
high tech PVC Cold air intake
SRT8 full exhaust from a buddy(not installed yet)
LED Interior Lights (might scuff inside of dome lense to make light a little less bright)
LED "rock lights" (using 5050's 300Led over 5M to see how mine compares to omelets!)

Future Mods:
Projector headlamps
Led lit Plexiglass Brake Lamps(will make build thread once i figure it all out)
Led hood lights, Rear Cargo, misc. area's
Amber/red interior lights like a friends BMW which makes things easier to see at night
Tablet integrated into dash
Bunch of other stuff
Eventual Lift once I see others Results

Re: Clarks Build Thread

Shot of the dash which I anticipate will be looking a bit different in the near future. Oh and Leather seats that have heaters! I've never had a vehicle this nice, I love it!

Here's a shot of the CAI I made. It is a 4 inch with a autozone spectre filter. Have a k&n reusable one somewhere at a friends house i will swap on. Building a heat shield for it in next couple of days. Also will be using left of header wrap from motorcycle to wrap it in. So far, no issues nor any check engine lights

Re: Clarks Build Thread

Nice custom CAI, lookin forward to seeing your future mods.

To make it run a bit smoother, seeing as it has 140K+ miles , most seem to replace the PCV and the EGR. There are DIY's all over this forum

nice color! just a heads up.......... you have WAY TOO MUCH coolant in there and it is the wrong kind. drain it, flush it and put the right coolant in there.

Re: Clarks Build Thread

Nice! You have almost the same mileage as me! These engines are great! And like what SvenskaJeepGuy said you must put the right coolant which is Zex-05. It's Pinkish/Orangish. Looks Orange to me.

Re: Clarks Build Thread

My parents took it to a shop in texas to get it checked out before it came home and there were a few charges that had me questioning. I didn't even notice the full level as i just saw it was full. I will drain it tomorrow and put the right stuff in. Thanks for the heads up!

I was out wakeboarding today at the local cable park and there was a hill so parked it nicely. Its nothing like my old wrangler, but in time...

Re: Clarks Build Thread

Car started acting up today. Service 4wd came on along with abs, bas, tc lights. Tomorrow she will get some loving, reading up on threads related to my problem so I am hoping to knock it out tomorrow. Going to DMV in am to register my motor cycle again as backup vehicle. Nice weather for 2 wheels so no complaints here!

Re: Clarks Build Thread

^edited that instead of new post. Car acted up today as in November. Well I have decided to go a different route with my Heep. Going to do srt clone since I love looks of them along as sound the 5.7 makes. I just can't convince myself the ifs is worth it to lift. I will be watching for that person to chop her up and go solid front axle and see the pain/results of that build then more than likely, this will become my off road toy. Few notable things I am waiting on are the srt bumpers I found on clist. Plan on manifold/exhaust install once bumpers are in along with lowering springs. Keeping my eyes peeled for some 20 set reps or poems for sale.
