Smile Crestwood1001's Build Thread!

Alright guys, been holding off on this for a while, but now that my new tires just came in, and the bilstein hd's and RR 2 inch lift will be here tomorrow, I figured its time to make one!
10/23/2010- I traded in my 2006 Acura TL on the Jeep.

4876041911_3cf7d82d9b_z
I loved the Acura, it was an awesome car, but it became apparent that as I got older it was completely impracticable for where I live, I loved the look of the jeeps, and needed the 4X4.
So I searched and searched, almost pulled the trigger on a very clean, silver 2007 3.7L WK. But found the black V8 I wanted!

IMG00012-20101020-1353
That a pic of a pic of the dealer site, best I could find, I traded the Acura and got the jeep, and a check for 5 grand cause the value of the Acura was alot higher then a V8 WK during the height of gas prices.
The day I got her home, in the driveway, still a virgin, getting her seats shampooed!

IMG00018-20101023-1241
So after that I didnt do much for a while, did not take a whole lot of pics either but heres what iv got. First thing I did was (stupidly) put my old KC Daylighters on the front bumper. Liked it at the time, now I think im an idiot, but whatever. Next I got the front windows tinted to match the rears, and then got a set of used 255/70/17 tires to get me through the winter.

IMG_0182

IMG_0183
Then I put my blue LED dash lights from the acura in it. I am a voulentter fire fighter for the township I live in, at the time they were just in a stupid cig lighter power splitter, to be hardwired in the future (more on that later).

IMG_0186

IMG_0189
Then I got a GPS from work, I worked at best buy at the time and got a great deal on a 7inch Magellan GPS with audio video inputs, so I also added a rear view cam.

IMG_0187

IMG_0191
Then I wired my scanner into the jeep on switched power, and an aftermarket XM radio that I got through bestbuy as a free item for employees.

These are some pics of here as it stood in the spring of 2011...

DSCN0114
So between those pics, and the next ones, I painted all of the faded black plastic on the exterior of the car, it is one of the best mods iv done yet, made it look SO much cleaner without gray nasty plastic everywhere.
My next project was to install two switches, one for the blue LED dash lights, and one for my scanner and radar detector.

IMG-20110702-00071

IMG-20110704-00076

IMG-20110704-00078
Those are the most complete pics I have of the switches, obviously the wiring is hidden and hooked up now!
Then my HID fogs came in, I went with a 3k 55Watt kit, next are a few pics of the light output with different light settings, they obviously dont show the real output, but give an idea. The things are brighter then my headlights.

IMG-20110707-00085

IMG-20110708-00094
So after that I decided to upgrade all my interior lights with VLED l.e.d bulbs.

Then I painted my rims and brake caliper black...

(In the pic above you can see the painted rear step, handle, side molding, and door handles)

IMG-20110717-00126
Shortly after that I got my Valentine One radar detector and a mount that attaches to the sun visor mount that came out of a C6 vett. (Thanks to Rob for the tip!)

So with the switch im pointing to in this pic open (ON) the radar detector and scanner get switched power. (On whenever the ignition is HOT)

My latest mod as of last week, is dual Aeroforce Interceptor gauges in a gauge pod that replaces the sunglasses holder of the WK. These things are SICK, they scan the obd2 port and display over 50 vehicle parameters, can read and clean DTC codes, even adjust the speedo to match a larger tire diameter. (Again, thanks to Rob for the idea.)

So thats up to today, my new tires just came in today, Firestone Destination A/T's in 255/70/17. Tomorrow the Rough County 2 inch lift and set of four bilstein HD struts come. Install will be monday the 26th, obviously I will update with pics! But heres a teaser of the new tires!

IMG-20110920-00245
Next to my SHOT tires.

Hope you guys like it so far, im sure I missed some things, but I have made threads about all the mods as I did them. Questions and comments are welcome!!!!!

Yea man I'm loving it. Really digging the yellow fogs and those gauges in the sunglass holder. Where did you get the gauges at, and if u don't mind me asking, what do they cost? Also what hid kit did you go with?
