Re: Freshly detailed (Blackfire) Brilliant Black Overland '09

Thanks everyone! This was actually my first time using carauba paste wax, ever... lol Before this, I had only ever used NXT 1 on my previous car. I learned a lot doing this. At first I applied the sealant too heavily but I got the hang of it.

I haven't decided what to do with my emblems. I was thinking about painting them (all but the HEMI and Overland) semi-gloss black. Thoughts?

Next up is shaved and painted door moldings and painted door handles.

Oh, and a Superlift with custom powdercoated AEV Pintlers

Mod list sounds superb. I'm guessing your keeping the window door molding chrome?

Re: Freshly detailed (Blackfire) Brilliant Black Overland '09

What are you using for the fender wells? I'm going to hit mine with Stoner's Tire Shine product.. Elvis/Robert told me that it does a good job but I don't want to get it on the paint.. (it's in a spray bottle)

Re: Freshly detailed (Blackfire) Brilliant Black Overland '09

to be honest, i dont think you have to debadge the car, for some reason the front jeeps logo blends in quite well with your overland lower accent and not even going to get started again with ur OEM blackouts. but shaved and painted door moldings and painted door handles.....ahh shiot! gonna look sweet bro

Yeah at least for now. I definitely don't want the ALL blacked out look, I'd like to keep a little of the Overland flair. and of the chrome, i like the below-window accents. My original plan was to use some Lamin-X to tint the chrome front bumper trim, window molding, and roof side rails but I'm going to leave them chrome for a while to see how it looks with the lift and new wheels. One step at a time...

Using the separate wash bucket for the wheels, I first used a brush to scrub them out, then a normal grout sponge to wipe it all down. Once they were dry I used Chemical Guys Fade 2 Black spray.
