Re: Grand Willys project

Trip was done on the cheap with public transport on trains, ferries, trams and staying in 2-3 star hotels, hostels and local houses even. For us it is not about where we sleep, but what we get to see during the day that counts.

Re: Grand Willys project

Back on the project again. Not going to bore you with the whole strip down of this one as it is no different to the first one I did.

Well another cab stripped and off the chassis. The 48 in the foreground is pretty much the same as the 58 behind it.

Main difference is the smaller rear window which I like so much more.

Next on the list is stripping this down to bare rails. Chassis rails look to be in better nick than the another one so intend to use this 48 frame for the build.

Re: Grand Willys project

You have probably been swamped. But I've been missing reading this thread. I think it's awesome to share every step on this project with us and I open up this thread very anxiously everytime I see it up on the top.
Keep it up and hope you can fast forward a little..... j/k

Looks like you had an awesome trip man! Very jealous, Im in no position whatsoever to do that now but one day I plan on hitting every big city there is yeah right . . . well hopefully

Anyway , gotta be a nice feeling to come home to this project, something to keep you busy and entertained! Good to see some more progress as well.

As always, I look forward to the final product, keep it coming

Re: Grand Willys project

Just to show things are still moving along. Second frame has had everything removed that unbolts.
Only rust so far is in one of the stiffening plates that I wont be needing anyway, so that is good.

Next step is to remove all suspension brackets, cross members and stiffening plates.
