Great to hear you are happy with the Corsa. Just waiting on some Kooks high flow 3" green cats to arrive so can finish off the exhaust.
That and working on the house is taking all my spare time.

The problem is like this week fitting new entry doors. Thought it wouldn't take long but trying to fit a new door in a 60 year old house involves a lot of work to get it to fit. Opening not standard or square so had to jack the house etc.

i know what you mean, sometimes you wonder what the hell these people that built or modified these houses before you lived there were thinking. my buddy just bought a house last year and was doing a major renovation on his bedroom living room and bathroom. and noticed when he took up the carpet in the living room where he was going to build a wall was a wall before but to help make the floor all the same level who ever took that old wall out put door molding and plaster down on the floor to smooth it out. talk about hack work.

I am not sure if you post this stuff elsewhere, but I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to post it here! It is so much fun following your build. I wish I had an ounce of your fabrication skills!

Glad to hear your thoughts. Hopefully next month I might get a break between rooms to do something on it again.

Re: Grand Willys project

Gojeep,

I am in the process of adding the SRT exhaust manifolds and midpipes and in some of the earlier photos you posted of the manifold gaskets it looks like you used an exhaust gasket that doesn't have the heat shield built into it. The gasket I found was the Fel-Pro MS97083 which is for the '09 5.7L with the D shaped ports. I will be keeping my EGR so I would like to know which gasket you used that doesn't have the heat shield on it.

Here is the one I bought.

Here is the photo you posted and the one that I would like to use.

Any advice you can offer would be appreciated.

Re: Grand Willys project

Everyone says only to use the factory one as the best there is against future leakage. The one I have is the stock factory 08 one but will use the factory 09 with the D shaped ports on final assembly.

Re: Grand Willys project

I've decided to use your advice and stick with the D shaped ports of the '09 5.7L gaskets. Your build has really inspired me to take on the complete exhaust project. Thanks for sharing such an amazing project.
