I began by installing an OME HD kit on my 99 WJ.. Then encountered the lovely "Death Wobble". I put up with for quite some time, but after nearly getting rear ended while towing my brother's and my motorcycle on the highway in Omaha during our trip to Colorado, I decided the stock specs were going back. I ran the JKS Track-Bar, HD tie rod, & their disconnects as well. I wheeled it a bit in Colorado, but like I said, didn't wanna take any risks with the DW.
The WJ went back to stock and I decided to purchase a 98 XJ.. Something more suitable for my Colorado wheeling needs. When I first bought it, it was filthy and needed some help.. But overall, it was in not too bad of shape.
I then turned it into this.
I ran a Rubicon Express 3.5" Superflex with the full rear leaf pack and front disconnects. Herculiner on lower quarters & cladding removed, etc. Kargo Master roof rack with Hi-Lift. IPF H4 conversion, and some sound stuff. This XJ took me everywhere I wanted to go. Absolutely loved this Jeep.. Juss sold it about a month ago, and I miss it.
But it has taken me back to the 99 WJ... For now
(almost bought a white 07 WK the other day).
So now, I have installed the Gen III projector headlights, Addco rear sway bar, painted a couple things, and installed a CB. I have ordered a bunch of stuff like a 55w 5000k HIDs from DDM, Focal KRX2 component speakers, & two Alpine MRX amps to power my new system. I also purchased another OME HD spring set, but this time with Bilstein 5100s. I was set on running these, with JK Rubi's wheels & tires, but don't want to deal with DW. Plus I'll end up putting lockers, armor, and bumpers on it.. $$$ that I would rather not spend.
Now I'm contemplating finishing the sound system, led interior/exterior, tinted taillights, led third brake light, roof rack delete, repaint the cladding and bumpers, and install some black 20" SRT Reps and drive it comfortable.
