Didn't get the winch, we had to go to a birthday party 3 hours away yesterday. I've cut a couple pieces out but that's about it. I'll get more done this week!

Re: Jay's 05 WK Build Thread

Jayloop,

Nice WK. I really think you nailed the paint on that hood. That looks mean as hell!

I've been going through the '35" WK Club' threads trying to sort out the best possible scenario for me to go from 0" of lift to 6".

Did you have to special order those rear lower control arms? I can't seem to find them but really think I'll need those as well. Are you running rusty's rear adjustable track bar along with the brackets I believe came with the SL?

Do you have part numbers for the shocks and struts you're running?

Thanks I know that's a million questions,
D

The new SL kit comes with new LCAs instead of drop brackets, so you wont need to custom order a set from Rusty's. You probably wont need the adjustable track bar, but if you are shooting for a 6" then it is nice to have so you can center your axle properly.

Oh that is awesome news. Didn't realize they all come with those LCAs like Tosh had gotten in his kit.

Thanks...it's really nice having a group of guys that have already been down this road so I'm not charting through completely new territory.

Hey D!
Yeah like Omelet said, new kits come with longer LCAs. The part # for the bilstein struts is F4-BE5-D721-H0. They will give you about 3/8" up front. They ride much better than the stock ones after adding the additional height. I would also highly recommend the SRT8 sway bars as they will tighten up your on road ride and get rid of some floatiness. For 6" lift questions, Omelet, Valpacer, and Mr. Tosh will be great resources. They've done some additional things that I have yet to do. Good luck and keep us updated!!!

Update: finally got my pieces cut. I've had almost zero time to work on it but I sneak in a few minutes here and there.

Also I ordered a super beefy Viking hawse fairlead!

I've still yet to decide on a winch...probably gonna go with a superwinch EP9 or a Warn M8000i.

Nice Jay! I like that fairlead too! I wanted to got their line and fairlead, but it didn't fit into my budget at the time. Great stuff though!

Also, be sure to tack the front piece on (the one the fairlead bolts to) and then pop the bumper cover on and check the fit. The frame is not a perfect 90 to the bumper. You might have to bend it forward so the fairlead sits against the bumper right. If that makes sense

Yeah that makes perfect sense. Thanks for the heads up on that one, I probably would have missed that!
